~The ISLAND~

Crowds
of people...
They told me that
there is an ISLAND.

I'm waiting for it trembling
like a plant
on a muddy mud.

I don't see it but I believe...
I don't believe it but I see it.
...and that's how I play
as a God
in my head.

We all might search for that incredible ISLAND that is the answer to all of our problems. Illusory or not, it is in the nature of human being to search for a relieve in this dizzy world.

'muddy mud' is a bold move. It works. I love the inversion in "I don't believe it but I see it." It serves to emphasize the truth, that we often can see clearly what we want, but don't really believe it could happen. The last lines 'took the top of my head off' as Dickinson would say. They are perfectly cryptic; they make us search for exactly what you mean by that. All in all a good minimalist poem; it makes me want to write a short powerful poem without many words. :)

Thank You! You higlighted very well the ideas in the poem. The fact that it inspires you it is even great. I also get sometimes my inspiration from other poems in the blockchain. I am sure you would write a magnific short powerful poem! So, hope to see it round here! Best!

An interesting poetic text, marked by the oscillation or ambiguity between what we can desire and achieve. The "island" is an archetype from distant times, and in literature it has had an important presence. Your poem updates it very well. Greetings, @maylenasland.

Thank You very much! Your words speak very powerfully and make me think of old forgotten representations, such as Jung's or Plato's. Thank You for this great insight.

short, precise and concise, your poem catches my attention and the image is perfect with the poem, I liked this part very much:

I'm waiting for it trembling
like a plant
on a muddy mud.

Blessings ♥
