EFFECT OF SOME PARENT'S DECISION ON THEIR CHILDREN
This morning as I was going to school I saw new students been admitted into the school who are already doing their medical registration and I was seeing some set of guys very old enough to have graduated from school and I was like wondering what they can still be doing in school and which they should have gone to another field to do some other things no even related to school. And I remember some sort of things which do happen among families at home between parent and their children just on the case of going to school to do some certain courses and which have been a very tough one between both parties but one won't have any choice than to concur to their opinion while some children won't want to follow the opinion.

PARENTS MENTALITY ON SOME CERTAIN COURSES
I don't know the view of most parent that if a child doesn't study medicine or do a course which has big name, they believe that the child is not studying a good course in the university, If someone ask me now and I said I am study Agriculture in school, the way he or she will look at me will be like can't you go for a better course like medicine, engineering and the rest which they don't know that not only that field can make a child better person in the society, that is why most parent don't want their child to study courses which doesn't not have a known name because they believe the child will be wasting his or her time in the university.
CAUSING DELAY FOR CHILD'S DUE TO IGNORANCE
What I am trying to say is about parent picking a certain course for their children or even saying that it is a must for their child to walk in a certain professional field which sometimes won't be the right mind choice of that child. A young boy who is not even up to 10 years old and has already have the love of mathematics in his heart, like whenever he sees mathematics subject he will always be happy to go for it, not only that, a parent who have been seeing that same child already taking some equipment and picking up items in the house like torch light which is not yet damaged and started to unscrew that torch looking for how that torch was able to supply light out without electricity but later ended up destroying the torch, that parent should have known that the child would be a future engineering because he has started showing the trait out of it.
But yet that same parent after seeing the child showcasing those things, the child finished his secondary school education and was about to write his jamb and you started insisting the child should go study medicine in higher institution that you don't have anyone who has ever become a doctor in the family which is always common among parent and they will be like I want you to be the first medical doctor in the family when you know that the brain of this child won't even go far in medicine line. The child told the parent that he wish to study an engineering course particularly electrical engineering and the parent shun him to go fill medicine in the jamb form.
The exam came and the child pass well but unfortunately for the child the university which be picked couldn't offer him admission even after passing the post utme claiming that the cut off mark for medicine is very high and the child had no choice than to wait for another year to sit for jamb, same thing happened the second year, the child wasn't given the admission and you know the longer a child spend at home the more the brain of learning and reading depreciate. The guy spent over 6years at home even after going for a predegree program his course was changed yet the parent still insisted that he will study that medicine, those who they finished secondary together are already graduate while some are already serving to highest point some have gotten a job and the guy is yet to secure an admission to study medicine.
ACCEPTING THE FACT WHEN IT'S ALMOST LATE
Not until a friend of the father came to meet his parent and told them not all student who study medicine are doctor now adays, you will see someone who graduated well in medicine line and still working in a bank and other places. The child was delayed for over 6years just because of the decision of the parent to study medicine which that didn't work, the guy later went to a technical school and finished through there study some electrical work now he his doing fine with a good job better than some of the people who study medicine.
So if not for the man who came to change their view softly about how some courses are, that is how the child would be delayed for a longer period and I know that the child must have been fed up of going to school.
So no course which a student is studying in the university which does not have it own way to make money not just everything is about medicine and engineering alone or business administration, political science and law, e.t.c.
They should let the child pick from his own mindset which the work of the parent is just to support the child with prayer and other things which is needed and for sure everything is going to work out well and fine.
Children are a image of what we do as parents.
Yes sure they really are
Most parent believe they know their children very well more than the child itself which is wrong and because of this they tend to decide for their child.
And causing delay in the future achievement of that child
This is very true.
