Sarciadong Dila-Dila: My Dinner Idea

Hello, wonderful food lovers of Hive Food! 🍒🌹🍒
Today, I want to share with you a dish that I decided to cook for our dinner. It's a Sarciadong Dila-Dila. ✨
For those who might not be familiar, dila-dila is a unique Filipino-style meat loaf. It's a small, flat, and has a firm texture that holds up when cooked.
Ingredients:

• 500 g dila-dila
• 3 pieces egg
• 2 medium tomatoes
• 1 small red onion
• 1 piece green chili
• 1 piece red chili
• 1 tablespoon fish sauce
• 2 tablespoons cooking oil
• 1/2 cup water
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
Let's cook!

I first heated the oil in a pan and fried the dila-dila until it turned crisp on both sides. Once done, I set it aside on a plate to drain excess oil. Frying it first keeps the meat firm and prevents it from falling apart later.

After frying and cooling it a bit, I sliced each dila-dila into long strips. Cutting it into this strip size makes it easier to eat, and it soaks up the sauce even better.

After that, in the same pan, I left just a little oil, sautéed the onions, followed by the ripe tomatoes. I mashed the tomatoes a bit while cooking so they release their natural juices and create a tasty sauce.

I poured in a little water and let it simmer for a minute. Then, I added salt, pepper, and fish sauce to balance the taste.

When the sauce was already flavorful, I poured in the beaten eggs while gently stirring them with a fork. This makes the sauce thicker, creamier, and even more delicious.

Then I placed the sliced fried dila-dila strips back into the pan... I let it simmer in the sauce for just 2–3 minutes so every piece absorbs all those yummy flavors. I didn’t stir too much to keep the shape nice.
And that’s it! Dinner was ready to serve. 🌸😋🌸

This pairs perfectly with hot, steaming rice.
And also, my family really enjoyed this dinner.
Thanks so much for reading, and happy cooking to all of you! 💛🥘💛
