Is Anfield the New Trafford?

It's safe to say this season's Formula 1 has not gone to plan, at least for me. Having witnessed the injustice that was served at Abu Dhabi last December, I was hoping Lewis Hamilton would come out guns blazing. However, it was the beneficiary of Masi's calamitous decision that dominated proceedings this season while Lewis produced his worst season in F1. Nonetheless, Red Bull's dominance is a breath of fresh air to the sport that has been ruthlessly dominated by Mercedes in the last decade. Going forward, the Cost Cap should make it even more competitive as long as no one cheats the board. Will I ever warm up to Max Verstappen? I doubt it. The guy is good and all, but as long as my favourite dude is still around there's no space for two.

So, to my last weekend. Max did his thing once again but was happy to see Lewis claim the second spot. Except if something drastic and unexpected happens, Lewis Hamilton will probably set the unwanted career record of not winning a single race this season. Next season should be better. But, before that, I hope Lewis at least gets enough points to beat teammate George Russell in the standings. If not, those who never wished him well will be out there with the story that he's finished and couldn't even better his young teammate. As for Fernando Alonso, his loudmouth has always been entertaining. However, his blind hatred blocked him from remembering a young Hamilton nearly won the championship on his first season and beat him to the Championship the second season under the same label. Alonso really needs to take a chill pill.

Brighton vs Chelsea
Who doesn't see this one coming? There has been the joyous noise about Potter remaining unbeaten since taking over at Chelsea before Brighton burst the bubble. Of the six EPL games he's managed at Chelsea, he has 3 wins, two draws and 1 loss. However, Man United is the only team of the top 7 (if you consider Newcastle) he's played against, and his team was shredded to the point that he has Antony, Rashford and McTominay to thank for that draw. This is not to say Potter isn't a good manager or won't be successful at Chelsea. But, y'all need to calm down with the noise and all. Chelsea has played only Spurs and United of the traditional top 6 so far. You can start with the noise if he defeats Arsenal and Newcastle in the next two games.

Liverpool vs Leeds
I think it's becoming very annoying to write about Liverpool's continuous misfortune. It used to be a joyous affair before, but now they're messing with my FPL points so much it's becoming frustrating. Their terrible season reminds me of the horrible 2013/2014 season when every Tom, Dick and Harry travelled down to Old Trafford to wallop defending champions Manchester United. Those were terrible times. In fact, I'm no longer interested in what's wrong with these Liverpool dudes anymore. I'll gladly cut ties with their players FPL-wise so that I can enjoy their misfortune. It's never boring to watch your greatest rival suffer!

Frankfurt vs Dortmund
I watched this lovely match once again this morning, and it was entertaining. As far as I'm concerned, the German Bundesliga is the home of end-to-end, relentless attacking football. These guys run furiously at each other, creating chances, and shooting at will - a dream for the neutral football lover who is interested in end-to-end stuff. Jude Bellingham got the winner, finding his way into the opposition box despite playing in a deeper midfield role. That guy has got to start for England at the World Cup.

Finally, the last round of the Champions League group stage is here. I'll probably watch Liverpool vs Napoli, a match that's destined to be entertaining. On current form, Napoli should win. However, Liverpool is a sleeping giant. On their day, they can match any team in Europe. So, this one is no foregone conclusion.

Brighton win. Leeds won and Dortmund win.

Well, am not surprised Brighton won against Chelsea. I had the chance to watch that match and I must say the match was won in the first half. Brighton did an amazing job with starting the game with a lot of intensity and getting rewarded for it.

Liverpool's loss was due shocking one for me. Losing away is no news but Liverpool losing at home at no other place than Anfield? Come on, this will have a serious effect on the atmosphere in the stadium.

I didn't watch the Dortmund match but I was glad to see them take the win she 3 precious points. I will like to see them competing for the Bundesliga title.

Liverpool are a real source of confusion this season. They won Man City only to lose to Forest and Leeds. Now they've won the recently unbeaten Napoli. Those guys are something else.

The only thing anyone can do in the Bundesliga is to compete. At the end, Bayern will still win the league. I think Dortmund already knows that, hence their reason for selling their star players on a regular basis.
