If God exist, why is there suffering in the world?

If you are in this part of the world where I come from, this week question will definitely come to your mind. Diseases, war, insecurity, corruption, natural disasters and famine are some of the problem the world is battling with at this moment. Late last year, there was an outbreak of locust in a country in my continent, the locust ate up almost all the crops in that country, there is famine presently in that country right now. I believe most of those that the locust attacked their crops prayed to God, asking for fruitful year, some even did prayer and fasting demanding for bumper harvest, If there is God, Why then did he allowed these disasters still happened to them?.

The killing by insurgents and bandit in my country is so much. And one would wonder why is God not interfering to stop the wicked people from carrying out their wicked deed. And sometime one may even want to conclude that it is the belief in God that has created many problems in the world. Most of the crisis has religious undertone. Some even kill for religious sake.

This week question is a valid question as it tend to know why God is allowing all the suffering in the world, and also to challenge the existence of God.

And to answer this week question, one need to turn to his belief. In the holy bible, which is my spiritual book, man is the cause of his own problem. The world was created perfectly without a chance for any suffering until a man called Adams sin by disobeying God's commanded and that was when the suffering begins in the world.

Most of the suffering in the world right now is man created. The religious killings are done by men against God's command. The sicknesses that are plaguing the world are most times cause by the negligence of men. The famine is caused by the greediness of men.

After the man sinned, it distorted the original plan of God that was void of suffering. The man have to toil the soil before he could eat. The man have to cut down trees to build his house. And doing all these, is furthering the distortion of God's original plan and will also have its repercussions. The repercussions of destroying the living organisms on the soil as a result of farming, will make the land infantile that will eventually lead to famine. The repercussion of cutting down trees is causing the depletion of the ozone layer which will be harmful to us in future. Basically, the suffering of man is as a result of Man's sin.

Nevertheless, God promised us his kingdom that is free of sin, where there is no suffering. In his kingdom, God rules supreme. Sin have no place in that kingdom, and God is in control of everything. Unlike the world where Satan is the ruler, and sin is prevalent. All I mean to say is that, the suffering in the world is caused by the sinful nature of man that the devil is in control of.

But before you get to that kingdom, you have to have faith in him and obey his commandments here on earth. That is, one have to be free from sin to get to that kingdom where there is no suffering. God's plan for man is not for him to suffer but to live a good life, and have an expected end. So God exist and every suffering in the world is caused by the devil since the world is his place of inhabitand

I don't see why people blame God. Even Satan sometimes doesn't have a direct link to our suffering. For example, if we overeat from a box of chocolates, whose fault is the resulting illness?

GREAT point!!!! I agree 100%.. People don't even want to acknowledge God's existence until it's time to blame someone for all the wrongs that they've done themselves. LOL

Amazing insight on this post!!! Really enjoyed your perspective -and I agree. God's original plan was perfection - and the more we run away from it - the more we will suffer the natural consequences. There is no one to blame for the suffering we see around us except ourselves.

Humanity is losing it's sanity and then putting the blame on God. God has given us such a heavenly beautiful planet to live on but we humans have not left any opportunity to make it a hell.
