La ruta de hoy la escogió un compañero, una ruta bien agradable, un poco con mas desnivel los primeros 6 kilómetros, muy buena, lo que es, que hay que tener mas precaución ya que es una ruta donde hay muchos accidentes, hay que estar pila. Fue un trote bien agradable, ya que estaba en mi verdadera zona 2 ya que podia hablar tranquilamente, hablamos todo el camino, si que disfrute esta ruta en este dia. En total realice 12 kilómetros, mantuve mi hidratación correspondiente. Si que los entrenamientos largos son los que no trato de perderme, mas que todo por mi proyección a maratón a largo plazo.

Saturday—today I did my long run for the weekend. Thank goodness I had company since my husband is away on a trip, and this workout is always more enjoyable when we do it as a group. We went out for a jog today because there’s an event tomorrow for runners in our little town, and we’ll be participating. To make sure we didn’t miss out on the most important workout of the week, we went out for our long run today. We set out very early since we had other things to do that day; we agreed to meet at 5:30 a.m. While waiting for one of my running partners to arrive, I did a little warm-up. Once everyone was there, we set off. Thank goodness the weather was pleasant—though it was quite humid. When I started jogging, I felt a little anxious because I wanted to know if my hip injury had healed. I’d taken time off to recover, done special strengthening exercises for this type of injury, and had a lot of patience—a lot of patience—since, at my age, we don’t recover as quickly, and I’d been using ice packs. What a joy it was when I started and didn’t feel any discomfort at all, not even the slightest bit. And I thoroughly enjoyed today’s run, to the fullest, without any pain.
Today’s route was chosen by a friend—a really pleasant route, with a bit more elevation gain in the first 6 kilometers. It’s a great route, but you have to be extra careful because there are a lot of accidents there; you have to stay alert. It was a really enjoyable run, since I was right in my Zone 2—I could talk comfortably—and we chatted the whole way. I really enjoyed this route today. In total, I ran 12 kilometers and made sure to stay properly hydrated. Long runs are the ones I try not to miss, mainly because of my long-term goal of running a marathon.
