Siempre seguir.

Hello, beautiful people of Hive! Exactly 12 months ago, I was super motivated because, according to the stars, 2025 would be the year of Gemini, my sign. But it was actually a tough year, financially, emotionally, and professionally. I had to leave many things behind and move forward almost from scratch, barely crawling. So, more than a lucky year as I initially believed, it was a year to rediscover myself and be true to all that magic I carry within.

Today, I want to share three reflections that have stayed with me this year, reflections that marked a turning point.

IMG_1715 (1).jpg

I've always realized that I give a lot to my interpersonal relationships, that I'm always willing to give, to do, to invite, and in difficult times, I stopped and found myself alone, carrying a very heavy rope. Then I realized that I was carrying burdens that didn't even want to be carried. I suppose there's a psychological reason for this, but talking with the person who had won my heart without even trying, we got into a debate where I demanded attention, because if I didn't contact him, we'd become strangers. He told me:

** "You can't lift a finger for someone who doesn't want to stay."**

I was furious, because it was obvious I wanted to stay, but I just didn't want to feel like I was forcing everything, even though that's exactly what was happening. But after giving up and walking away, I realized he wasn't referring to me, but to himself. He was never very busy; he just didn't want to talk to me. Which was impossible, according to my lovestruck self, because every time I wrote to him, he responded instantly, and we could spend hours talking. Those conversations did me so much good. But guess what? Since I decided to walk away, I haven't heard from him again.

** Letting go hurts, but it's necessary, because if you drag ghosts around, you'll always live tormented in a haunted house.**

At another point, I experienced a situation with a friend who helped me during a critical moment in my life, and therefore I always tried hard to make her feel comfortable. However, her behavior began to get strange. I discovered a side of her that I didn't like, to be completely honest. She wasn't happy for my achievements and criticized my body and lifestyle, but I remained attached to the idea that "she helped me through that difficult time." Then, talking to my sister about it, she told me something key that I would keep forever:

"You can't be a victim of gratitude." Yes, she helped you, but you've always been there for her since then. She's already collected on the favor and still owes you, so don't let that happen.

Now I see it so clearly. Since then, things started to change, and I distanced myself.

But anyway, let's continue. I recently met a friend, a very intelligent and witty man. We share a sense of humor. Our connection is quite recent, but a few days ago I wasn't doing so well emotionally, and being alone at home felt overwhelming. So I arranged to meet up with him. We've seen each other about five times, so it was a little strange to feel that level of trust. But when I arrived, he looked at me and asked, "Bad day, or bad week?" "Bad week," I replied. He smiled at me and continued, "Being a pain in the ass, that's what they call maturity."

I was one step away from bursting into tears. He took my shoulder and said, "We're alive. My best friend died of cancer last month, and I assure you she would have preferred to have a bad week than not be here. Shall I buy you an ice cream?"

I was speechless, and I never felt like he minimized my emotional state; on the contrary, it was as if someone had sent me that message... I spent the whole night thinking about it.

Although not everything is rosy, and it's okay to break down sometimes, we have to work hard and keep going.

Always keep going.
