DIY raised bed - Hochbeet selber gebaut

Hallo liebe Community,

Ich habe die letzten Tage damit verbracht ein Hochbeet selber zu bauen.

Dafür habe ich halbe Einwegpalleten verwendet, um genau zu sein habe ich dafür 17 Stück verwendet.

Die Grundfläche besteht aus 4 Palleten, die 60cm x 80 cm groß sind.

Die Wände dann natürlich auch auf beiden Seiten je 4 Stück und dann die anderen beiden Seiten, jeweils eine Palette.

Da das Hochbeet somit 80 cm tief gewesen wäre (Innenmaaß) ca. 220 cm lang und ca 60 cm breit, hätte än wir einiges an Füllmaterial benötigt.

Daher habe ich nochmal 3 Paletten verwendet um einen erhöhten Boden einzubeuen. Dabei konnte ich rechts und links die Palletten im gesammten einfügen, das Mittelstück habe ich dann durch zerteilen der letzten Palette ausgefüllt.

Ich hatte mir im Baumarkt einuge Winkel besorgt, später nochmal etwas größere, mit denen ich den zwischenboden befestigt habe.

Bei Amazon hatte ich mir Noppenfolie bestellt, viel zu viel, habe jetzt noch rund 20m übrig, mal gucken wofür ich die noch gebrauchen kann.

Ich hatte mir extra auch noch einen elektrischen Tacker bestellt, der war gar nicht so teuer, hätte ich nicht gedacht. Die Folie hatte ich aufgeteilt, in einem Stück wäre das richtig schwierig geworden, da diese recht steif ist. Dachte als ich die bestellt hatte, dass es wirklich eine Folie ist, in etwa wie Teichfolie.

In die Folie habe ich einige kleine Löcher gemacht um Staunässe zu verhindern, obs was bringt werde ich sehen.

Dann habe ich das ganze befüllt, zunächst mit Hackschnitzel, das heißt wirklich so ;)

Darauf kam Kompost, ganze 5 Säcke.

Als letztes kam 6 Säcke Hochbeeterde rein.

Ich bin gespannt ob sich die gabze Mühe lohnen wird. Dafür das ich handwerklich gar nicht begabt bin, habe ich es glaube recht gut hinbekommen.

Was ich nun insgesamt dafür ausgegeben habe, weiß ich nicht, sind aber trotzt Tacker, weit ubter 200 Euro. Denke das ist für so ein großes Hochbeet aber mehr als in Ordnung.

Sollten wir eine ordentliche Ernte haben, werden wir das Geld rasch wieder drin haben.

I have spent the last few days building a raised bed myself.

I used half disposable pallets, 17 to be exact.

The base consists of 4 pallets, which are 60cm x 80 cm.

The walls then of course 4 pieces on each side and then the other two sides, one pallet each.

Since the raised bed would have been 80 cm deep (inside dimension), approx. 220 cm long and approx. 60 cm wide, we would have needed a lot of filling material.

Therefore I used another 3 pallets to dig in a raised bottom. I was able to insert the pallets on the right and on the left, the middle part I filled in by cutting the last pallet in two.

I bought some angles at the hardware store, later some bigger ones, with which I fixed the intermediate floor.

I ordered some bubble wrap from Amazon, way too much, now I have about 20m left, let's see what else I can use it for.

I also ordered an electric stapler, it wasn't that expensive, I wouldn't have thought. I had split the foil, it would have been really difficult to do it in one piece, as it is quite stiff. When I ordered it, I thought it was really foil, like pond foil.

I made a few small holes in the foil to prevent waterlogging, I'll see if that helps.

Then I filled the whole thing, first with wood chips, that's really what it's called ;)

On top of that came compost, a whole 5 bags.

The last thing was 6 bags of raised soil.

I am curious if the effort will be worth it. Considering that I'm not very good at handicrafts, I think I did a pretty good job.

I don't know what I spent on it in total, but despite the stapler, it's well over 200 euros. But I think that's more than okay for such a large raised bed.

If we have a good harvest, we will quickly save the money again.
