Fairy Forest
The weather is getting colder in the land down under but it is no excuse to remain indoors with still plenty around to see and do. With household budgets getting tighter there are a lot of wonderful community events and play spaces on offer for free or relatively affordable to keep families active and having a fun time.
This weekend we headed off to the Fairy Forest which is an art/play space exhibition that is open to families and children and consists of tiny homes made of forest materials. Many of the homes are set amongst the trees and hidden just out of plain sight. They come furnished and some even have a fairy or two inside them.
I hope they are quite sturdy as the exhibition is targeted at young children and many were trying to peep inside the fairy forest homes so I am not sure how long this exhibition will last for. There are other things to be found in the fairy forest also, like a sand pit that contains dinosaur bones that children can take turns digging up and finding.
Out door obsticale courses for kids to run and play on including a giant birds nest and other awesome foresty things.
The exhibition is located along the werribee river so the board walks that have been developed walk you through some impressive reeds and wetlands where you can also spot a few native birds and if you look closely you might even see a fairy or two riding one of the wet land birds.
Overall was a wonderful family weekend event where we had a lot of fun visiting the fairy forest.
