Happy Weekend Vibes

It's a bit of a rough time here in Victoria especially in Melbourne with the flood event saturating much of the suburbs and causing wide spread damage leaving many people without a home and losing possessions.

I'm a little bit safer being 30+ kms away from the CBD much of the water catchments aren't around me and there is still large lots of vacant land which means the water just soaks into the ground and ends up in the ground water streams.

We do however live right across the road from a water spill off catchment and I had been watching it rise rapidly but we were spared any flooding due to the man made water ways that have been developed to capture the water and send it elsewhere.

The most we got was the water level almost reaching the road level in two low laying areas and one section that had part overflow so we are really fortunate.

It's been a busy week and I haven't had much time to blog this week due to work and the emergency situation unfolding with lots of crys for help and many friends and family impacted.

Remaining close to home and awaiting dispatch orders we stayed local and it also ment we had some time together as a family which was a great opportunity to just remain in doors and visit one of our old favourite pizza restaurants in the local area where we used to live down the road.

I mean after all who doesn't love a great pizza? And yes that is pineapple the kids love pineapple on Pizza it is a common topping in Australia despite it not being common in Italy or other parts of the globe.

We do have a different variety of pizzas for instance we don't have pepperoni pizzas we do have one called Mexicana that comes with hot salami, chilli and red and green capsicum with mozzarella cheese which is the pizza my wife often goes for. Since having kids though we tend to shy away from the chilli.

I can't help but notice how much little miss has grown and is fast becoming a little woman she's currently wearing clip on earings and is asking to have her ears pierced just like mummy.

Our conversations have become a lot more question based about the world around her which I've been excited about and watching her personality flourish including emotions in her language in how she explains things.

It brings me back to a video I watched that had an interesting point in that you only have little kids for 5 years and I can not agree more. Now that little miss is 5 years old she is a totally different person which I love and adore but now those cuddles are starting to become far and in-between.

She had a friend over who she goes to school with and lives a few doors down, they spent time playing in her room for a few hours and I didn't hear a peep only popping in to check on them and being told to "go away dad".

Thats who little bloke and I got to spend some time together as he was pushed a side and it was the first time he'd experienced his sister bail on him and spend time with a friend and not include him.

He was a little lost and upset but we had a chat about things and spent some time in the home gym lifting some weights 🤣

Shout out to anyone on here experiencing hardship due to the floods my heart is with you.
