Parenting and the sleepless nights
It's 10 minutes passed midnight which means it is now Wednesday and I've got working in the morning. So does my wife but as a nurse her shift starts earlier than mine and I'm still working from home which means I've got the grave yard shift with little bloke that doesn't want to sleep.
He woke up bright eyed and wanting to play at about 10:30pm and I've been battling him ever since to go back to bed. I had plans to have an early night tonight so I could get some added rest for some pretty important meetings I have tomorrow but all that has seemed to go out the window at this point in time.
Sleep is one of the most vital things we need to function and it's something babies need a lot of. Although lil bloke now sitting around the 16 months mark he is no longer a little baby and has dropped his day time naps unless his sister isn't home like today and he will get board and decide to have a nap.
I had the feeling that this was going to happen tonight when he went down for a nap in the afternoon and I tried my best while trying to work and entertain him to keep him awake. But at one point he got so cranky he started throwing toys at me and running away to find a quite place to nestle in.
He went down at about 3pm which is like the worst time for a kid to nap, anytime after around the 2pm mark and you're in for a rough night. His nap wasn't a small one either it went for at least over an hour and that's with me trying to wake him up a few times only to be met with a screaming crying baby and then for him to fall asleep on my shoulder again.
It's quite funny, my please for him to go back to bed seem to be falling on deaf ears as each time I say bed time he grunts and runs off with a no. Well the positive is that he is starting to talk says mum, dad, nan, ta for lil miss. Eh for yes and no is a er. Kind of like a growl.
So here I am walking the streets with little bloke in the pram because I know it will help him get to sleep. Lil Miss was the same but she'd often only fall asleep in the car which was really annoying because I'd tend to drive to the nearest McDonald's get myself a 20 pack of nuggets eat them while I drove around and by the time if get home she'd be asleep. But lil bloke isn't too much a fan of the car.
It got me wondering, what are some of the ways that you get your little humans to sleep on nights like tonight?

Oh man I know exactly what you are talking about 😅 We bought an electronic swing that vibrates slightly! It gave us a few hours of sleep.
I wish you all the best 🍀
Hahaha oh I'm so tired this morning :( ah well such is parenting life.
