If you're an Apple product user you are currently at risk of having your crypto stolen as well as all personal information including access to bank accounts. You're urged to take action while monitoring and recording any unusual activity and be extra careful oh phishing scams and urgently update your phone to iOS 16.4.1 and your macOS to 13.3.1

Published on kaspersky a UK based leading cyber security firm with 25+ years experience and over 400 Million users of their products and services. An exploit in the Apple iOS and macOS systems can hack into your phone and take full control and do virtually anything.

CVE-2023-28205

The first vulnerability detected is a high risk which impacts WebKit which operates Apple's Safari on their phones and desktop computers impacts users by enabling hackers to establish fake webpages and when a user visit the page the hackers get access to your device.

If you're using Apple devices make sure the websites you are visiting in De-Fi and other crypto related services are the correct web pages or it very much maybe the last time you see your digital funds.

On it's own this hack isn't all to bad but it gets worse with the second vulnerability.

CVE-2023-28206

This hack is a dangerous one especially if you have fallen for the above vulnerability as this vulnerability enables hackers to execute code with operating system core permissions which means that once hackers have entered your device they can take control of it and do absolutely anything they want.

If you're using apple devices you need to upgrade to the latest iOS and macOS systems and if you haven't make sure to check your device and accounts to ensure all transactions can be accounted for and are yours.

It's sad to see this happen and I guess I can be happy that I am on Windows and not on Mac when I do crypto related things. I have heard about more hardware/software hacks recently.

It's incredible how easily new forms of scam/theft attempts are coming out when the crypto market moves for a bit. But the risks are real all the time and it's a good reminder to be more careful with our assets no matter the device we are using..
