SKIPPY UPDATE: Development Begins

Untitled design 98.jpg
Good morning Lions I trust you are safe and well and winding down for the end of the year, if like me you're probably off the clock and enjoying a few cold ones. For the first time in two years I have had a break and on annual leave and it feels great to not have to undertake my bread and butter and just switch off for a while.

But I haven't completely switched off as many of you know I am currently undertaking my own block chain project and work is still underway to make it a reality. This project is going to be new and different to what is currently available out in the world. Is it going to work? no idea so I would advise against "aping" in. With that in mind I would like to provide you with an update of what has occurred over the past week.

Lawyers on leave

As it is the end of the year most people are on leave and spending time with their families and loved ones and I support that. I think as a society we spend too much time working on things that aren't priorities despite us thinking we are always the priority, we are not.

Prior to the end of the year though we did commence working on developing the legal frame work and meeting regulatory requirements so that is fantastic. I'd anticipate that the completed plan/general advice will be available mid to late January lets just hope that regulations don't change as the Federal Government is currently planning on making changes which are yet to be announced.

Development Commences

I can not express the challenges faced in Web3 development and how hard it is to find people that can do the work (affordably and reliably) and be able to build what you want/need. From my brief experience I can honestly say that web3 once it gets itself together is a fantastic advancement in technology and connection but has a long way to go in development.

I have met with our online developers and undertaken an audit and plan of where we are, what we need to be doing and where we need to go. effectively mapping out the stages of the business and what aspects we need to work on as a priority and what can wait and what we need to start on ASAP.

ATM Skippy has a lot going on so it is about refining our position and where our strongest market is and if it exists. Through some community consultation and potential client engagement we will be focusing on the Multivendor NFT site. But stay with me here this one is going to be a little different and roll out in stages there are also a few Can we do that? involved.

NFT Multivendor site is self explanatory we're going to build a trusted company that people can come and open up their own NFT store and list/mint their own NFTs. We also have a question which will be going to legal once NFTs are sold for Skippy tokens can we enable Fiat exit or do we need a Financial Services License. Hopeful that as it relates to trading art which is a product/service we wont.

Second point is expansion, yup we're looking at enabling each multivendor site to also include non block chain items such as products and or services powered by woo commerce. I haven't developed a pricing for this either be a subscription base or commission or maybe even none and just run ads on the site. NFT sales will incur a $5 mint cost and also looking at including a 1.5% commission but further mapping needs to be undertaken because I am going to undercut the entire market and be the cheapest NFT Multivendor site on the market with more on offer.

NFT Gaming

Untitled design 20211230T001348.210.jpg
I have to be honest with you on this one, the NFT gaming aspect is quite far away as I don't have the team or funds to progress at current but I am still drafting a plan for it.

Imaging a world where you can mint your own NFT items such as apparel or perhaps even forge your own items from in game items. What about travelling through multiple games with the same character in different types of games from RPG's, RTS, First Person Shooters or even a game of chess!

With the world of NFTs this is a reality so long as it is all in the same company. This is what I am currently looking at but it is still a long long way to go.

Funding

Untitled design 20211230T001758.620.jpg
We are obviously limited to our wallets on what can be achieved and for the current time being I have been fortunate to be successful in receiving some grants to fund law, project planning, development but nothing too major at current.

It was raised today about seeking partnerships or brining people onboard who I could team up with that have shared values which has been in the back of my mind for some time however, I do have a plan of created the first legal DAO once Australia legalises DAO's. Partnerships may impact this position but it is still something we can add to the plan either way.

I would like to hear from you, what are your thoughts where would you like the project to go, what would you like to see included and what do you think should be tried. Let me know in the comments section below.

Multivender platform, this sparked a tiny bit of thoughts that have been and continue to peculate in the back of my head. Ever since I started looking into YGG I have pondered NFT trades between games within a multi game guild. @1UP is another example of a gaming guild that could benefit from something like this for their members.

With this the guild can set up their own vender. As guild NFTs lose vitality they can be listed on the vender for members to purchase (maybe non members too). The income from sales can be repurposed into stronger positions where the guild is moving towards. Guild treasuries could be used to purchase NFTs from members who for one reason or another are leaving a game. This then can be listed on the vender page. There are a few more thoughts percolating but can't seem to get them into words currently.

I get what you're saying and it is something I am planning which is why the multivedor site is coming first.

***#Skippy is a very exciting project getting its legs moving forward. NFT minting is a great idea at a very affordable price. I am very interested in minting nft artworks, that can be sold with the profits going to charity. ***

It looks like a lot of legal work is being done and it sounds like it might be a huge mess. Don't you need to get them involved everytime you add in a new aspect like gaming or NFTs?

good luck, it's a lot more difficult than I thought to get a project going. We are trying to get a few games going on HIVE but there seems to be no available developers and theres many more logistics than previously thought.
