mainstream social media outlets have competition gaining traction as Hive's Delegated Proof of Stake (dPoS) continues to gain traction.

while Hive is a Decentralised Social Media Platform sharing profit with users, Twitter and Facebook look to centralise crypto wealth. Twitter launches a sister company that utilises the Bitcoin lightning network and looks to profit off the fees. While Facebook attempts to replace Western Union for international remittance and challenges El Salvador's Chivo app.

While Block Chain technology is challanging the mainstream centralised financal system so to is Hive and Social Media Giants and with the incorporation of the Speak Network it is only a matter of time before YouTube Succumbs to Decentralisation.

I have tried to convince mainstream people to use HIVE, without much success. They still like their Twitter and Facebook

DPoS is not decentralized.
It is feudalism in the digital world.

The sell, and the reality, are very different.

If bending the knee to 'the authority' on Hive is the only way to not suffer negative consequences from the authoritarian loving large stakeholders on here,no thanks.
I ain't getting on my knees and sucking cock to please small minded people with insecurity issues, just for handouts, 'favors'.. ('rewards').

My web 2.0 blog platform is doing well with subscriptions.
No downvoting.
No malicious or vindictive exertion of stakeholders 'powerrrr'.
Hive has very a very communist -centralized - philosophy.

Hive is digital feudalism. ...Be a serf to the powers that be, or be 'sanctioned' for not following 'the politburo's' approved narrative.

See my account and the actions against it - for the last 8 MONTHS !!!!

On every post, and many upvoted comments.(thousands of dollars in value taken from my supporters).

Decentralized? lololol

I understand what you're saying but it is far better here than other block chains which provide no voice to investors either. For instance you could run a validator and run for a witness position. Hive is only small at current as it grows there will be more users with the same thought process as yourself which will make passing things even harder and require more people to meet in the middle ground.

There are also other avenues to earn and not solely focused on content creation. dApps, gaming, diesel pools. I think you need to broaden your horizon and look beyond just posting.

I have had and still do have similar issues as yourself, but that is what democracy is all about. You don't get any of this on centralised mainstream social media. You are at their bidding and I rekon you've probably been kicked from mainstream, yet here no one can do that to you.

No, if you follow trials of voting patterns, the 'wealth' is being kept within a small group of people, the upvoting patterns tell you everything.
(It wouldn't surprise me if it's not already algorithmic guaranteed to maintain the HP in certain echelons - power never relinquishes itself - why would the hive cabal be any different?).

I think you need to broaden your horizon and look beyond just posting.

I've always succeeded doing things my way, for 5 decades - on merit, and all that.
Free markets and free competition have always rewarded me well.
Hive is not based on merit - but sycophancy and nepotism.
When one downvote drowns out 70 upvotes....?

I have had and still do have similar issues as yourself, but that is what democracy is all about.

Democracy is never about stifling free speech.
Financial terrorism is a tool that's been used for centuries to censor people - the two are not mutually exclusive ( no matter how much those who use such tools, try to tell you differently - that's gas lighting).

You don't get any of this on centralised mainstream social media. You are at their bidding

I'm earning more on 'mainstream web 2.0' than I am on hive - Ergo Hive is more draconian in it's execution and control.
Hive stifles my free speech through financial terrorism, more than my web 2.0 platforms do....
That's 'web 3.0' freedom...? Reconcile. (you can't, DPoS is digital feudalism)

and I rekon you've probably been kicked from mainstream,

You'd recon incorrectly then.

yet here no one can do that to you._

See financial terrorism. It's very real, and nothing new.

Long bow to call it financial terrorism and again I'll reiterate the fact that there are many avenues to pursue income such as Diesel Pools, staking other tokens, defi and gaming.

You're only focusing on upvotes. If you're talking about witnesses earning alot they are elected representatives that actually also provide a service that they pay for. I see no issue with them earning income from posts to cover their costs.

At least we don't have auto payments like mainstream government of $240k+ a year and then no shows. People actually need to work for their position here. They're also really great at engaging, I've had many heated debates with witnesses and they are always open and accessible. As someone who also has far more greater heated debates in politics outside of Hive the delegates here are just as competent and always supportive.

Things will progress, just give it time

Not at all.
Know your history.
The Jewish shopkeepers in 1930's Germany ?

The term economic terrorism or financial terrorism is strictly defined to indicate an attempt at economic destabilization by a group.
wiki

The downvoting spree by large accounts has done this to my economy - quite literally.
Their actions forced me to alter my economic model.
Their action destabilized my economy.

Their actions have influenced upvoters (why bother upvoting you when my rewards are gonna be taken away)

and again I'll reiterate the fact that there are many avenues to pursue income such as Diesel Pools, staking other tokens, defi and gaming.

So if you can't profit by expressing yourself ( due _entirely to the negative actions of others, not my work - you go away ?)....
I've never had such a submissive attitude towards authoritarians who try to tell me what to do - and I ain't starting now.

Things will progress, just give it time

I've been here 4 years and nothing has changed (steem/hive).
Different faces, same structure.

I would say that everything is transparent in HIVE compared to Facebook and Twitter. We all know where the rewards come from because it comes from the agreed upon inflation rate. I would rather say there are downsides and upsides to HIVE. For the people on Youtube, they might not like HIVE because they like to have videos earn forever while we have a set period. It's tough but the users of HIVE decide the price.

It's a perfect approach that is quite equitable. Besides if someone likes an old post that won't earn money they can upvote a new post and write a comment or share it if they really wanted to.

Once a centralised system, always a centralised system.
