Guardian, the Freedom Fighter New Born of a Samurai

For Tsushima : Side Quest

After helping Lady Masako avenge her family, and killing the traitor, I went to Golden Temple to upgrade my war gear. I am running on supplies, upgrading my armor to the max. Now my main armor is the maximum. The bonus of getting a maximum health boost will help me a lot when surrounded by many foes.

On my way out of the Golden Temple, a peasant asked permission to speak to me. He informed me that there's a small resistance group gathering in Azamo prefecture. This group are fighting back against the Mongol. I admitt that this resistance is indeed a brave move, but if they are not trained, it will be dangerous. They could lose their lives for this. To think that living in this real hell of Mongols, somebody has to step in to fight for their freedom. This act of resistance earns my respect!

I went into the jungle, which was led by the wind, of course. I stopped from a distance, seeing a small battle live ahead of me. It's a battle between a small, desperate group, I think. They were not wearing any Mongol attire, but after the other side lost, the winning side started to switch their target toward me. Ahh, how I wish they didn't do that. So, it could be killed or just kill them.

I get down from my ride, unsheathe my sword, and am ready to kill. Three desperate men who don't care about their lives, even when they see a samurai unsheathe his sword, mean they are bad enough.

It was quick fight. They were unskilled and not my pride to kill, but since they were acting badly in front of Jin Sakai, they deserve to die. Surprisingly, I earn points for the victory I achieved here.

I continue my journey, following the movement of the wind. I think the wind aspect of the game is really well done. Instead of commonly unnatural quest pathway like most game, I like this wind idea in this game so much. Well, the view I got from this journey is fascinating. Purple flowers, a misty day, and a green jungle, are feeling so real.

My destination is not far from this main road. I can see a river that I need to cross on foot from here. The mansion really makes me wonder, how many people lived inside before the war and how many now. Of course, it doesn't matter in the game, it's just that, I am enjoying playing realistic games so much that it makes me play with my mind to enjoy it more.

A fine view while crossing the river. The water looks so real in the photo. Whenever I am covered by blood or mud, water will clean them. That's the special about the water in this game.

I finally met this lady, she call herself Guardian. I expect more Japan's lady name, but Guardian is all I was told. I learn that she is going to meet the resistance group later. She supposed to met them hours ago, but she never told me why she did not meet them, is she know that I am coming? I think so. I think the men I met earlier is somehow related to Guardian, and he purposely told me about the resistance group so I could train and lead them.

The ride is enjoyable. This is what I like about this game, you will hear a lot of story from NPC who interact and do mission with you. It's a form of relaxation that you don't always get. Well, that's me, I have a good ear and listen very well to what people say to me. And most people like to tell me story. This game is no different, I like it because the NPC is quite friendly, and they tell their story, which is relaxes me somehow.

Our slow and relaxing chit chat quickly turned into panic. She rushes forward. The farmhouse on fire, Mongols everywhere, dead bodies everywhere. Just like Lady Masako, this little lady pumped so much to make her move forward faster than my horse.

Ending the Mongol's life was easy, the harder part was to keep the girl alive I mean Guardian. I must guard the Guardian, hmm that's sound funny. Well, she is not samurai, but she dream to become one. She fought well today. She earn my respect.

The Mongol's archer is easy to kill, it's the definition of one hit one kill. That being said, they hit hard and enough to annoy me everytime. They can steal hit and run from it. So archer must die first.

I rarely use my bow to fight, but today I fired using explosion arrow. It so much fun! It causes the Mongol on fire which led him to the end of his life. Burning to the end.

Most of the houses were burned to the ground. It's sad to see that all of the peasants and fishermen died in this village. Although this was not the main force of the resistance group, it will majorly impact the resistance. This support group was left behind in the village to prepare and support the main force, but their lives were ended by the cruel Mongols.

She is not ready to give up yet, she told me the location of the main force. It's not far from here. So we call the horse and ride to it . Not chitcat this time, she just screamed that she want to end all Mongol's life. She want revenge!

Unfortunately, by the time we arrive, the main force's camp has burned to the ground. She jumped out from her horse, cried and kneel on her knee. It's a dramatic moment, she looks really broken to see her comrade die while the Mongols were laughing.

She didn't look back, quickly rushing into the Mongol's territory. I can see she was full of anger and emotion. That's a dangerous fighting method. A samurai must remain calm before and during the battle.

She literally rushing into the middle of the men. It's like a suicide. While killing the Mongols one by one, my focus was to find the archer. One mistake will kill Guardian.

I caught in the middle of the fight. I lost the archer location and Guardian location, blocked by the fire. Suddenly, the archer hit Guardian and that's what made her fall. Luckily. I can rescue her, and make her stand on her feet again.

I rushed to her. I have less than 5 second to reach her. I tell you, It's not that easy, I almost failed. Luckily, I managed to rescue her at the last second.

I didn't leave her side until she's fully recovered. She quickly stand up and balance her body, ready to continue the battle. What a women! Brave and strong will!

It was an epic battle moment. Deflecting arrow while protecting her. Killing until the last drop. It was fun!

I brutally killed the archer that hit her just now. And that's the last of it.

Our revenge for the freedom fighter, the small resistance group was a victory. We could never turn back time to reach here in time and save the group. But most importantly, Guardian learns a lesson from a samurai. Not only that, she rides with one and has an epic battle with a samurai. She fight like a samurai! A new samurai has been born! I really wish we will met again. I forgot to take a close picture of her.

So, that's all for today. Thank you so much for your support, until next battle! Have a nice day, goodbye!

Note : All photos were screenshots taken by me while playing Ghost of Tsushima game. My template picture were edited using PixeLab apps, the photo in there is my face with a samurai's attire generated by ToonMe apps.

A very intense and bloody fight at the end, just the way I like them. I'd tell you that some of the captures were my favorite, but it was actually the cover montage.
