Reseña: La Señora Fazilet y sus Hijas🍂 [Esp/Eng]

Hace unos días atrás, conversando con una amiga sobre novelas que nos habíamos visto hace algún tiempo, recordé que además de mi obsesión con las novelas latinoamericanas, tuve un tiempo en el que solo veía novelas turcas. Y aunque admito que no volvería a tener una obsesión como en aquel entonces, sí vería algunas de nuevo, porque soy gran fan del drama y el drama de las novelas es toda una joya. Deberían ser recordadas para siempre, por lo que en esta oportunidad quiero reseñar una.

Así que, sin más preámbulos, prepárense para el drama de la Señora Fazilet y sus hijas. La trama principalmente gira en torno a una familia de tres: La señora Fazilet, Hazan y Ece (justo como el título lo dice). Fazilet es una mujer ambiciosa, controladora y manipuladora, que ha querido salir de la pobreza toda su vida, pero la mayor parte de ella se la pasó cuidando a su esposo (ya fallecido). Por otra parte, está Hazan, la mayor, que es independiente, muy trabajadora y no está de acuerdo con los ideales de su madre. Y Ece, la hija menor, a quien su madre ha convencido toda su vida de que será “la cara más bella de Turquía”, empujándola a convertirse en modelo.

A few days ago, while talking to a friend about soap operas we had watched some time ago, I remembered that in addition to my obsession with Latin American soap operas, there was a time when I only watched Turkish soap operas. And although I admit that I would not have the same obsession as I did back then, I would watch some again, because I am a big fan of drama, and the drama in soap operas is a real gem. They should be remembered forever, so this time I want to review one.

So, without further ado, get ready for the drama of Mrs. Fazilet and Her Daughters. The plot mainly revolves around a family of three: Mrs. Fazilet, Hazan, and Ece (just as the title says). Fazilet is an ambitious, controlling, and manipulative woman who has wanted to escape poverty her entire life, but she spent most of it caring for her husband (now deceased). On the other hand, there is Hazan, the eldest, who is independent, hard-working, and disagrees with her mother's ideals. And Ece, the youngest daughter, whom her mother has convinced her whole life that she will be “the most beautiful face in Turkey,” pushing her to become a model.

Y pueda que para sorpresa de algunos, lo logró. Ece firmó un contrato con una de las empresas más importantes de modelaje en Turquía y terminó involucrándose con la familia Egemen, una de las más poderosas y ricas del país. Pero todo esto fue a causa de Fazilet: esa mujer hizo de todo para poder llegar a esa familia y, una vez ahí, no le importaba qué tuviera que hacer, pero ella iba a lograr que su hija estuviera en una posición que nadie pudiera tocar, lo que también le daba estatus a ella.

Realmente, este personaje es algo complicado, o bueno, todos lo son, porque aquí no hay ningún personaje realmente “bueno”, todos son moralmente cuestionables. Fazilet, aunque usara miles de trucos para escalar a una posición social diferente, llevaba siempre a sus hijas consigo. Entonces sí, también es la lucha de una madre, no de la mejor forma, pero estaba.

And, perhaps to the surprise of some, she succeeded. Ece signed a contract with one of the most important modeling agencies in Turkey and ended up becoming involved with the Egemen family, one of the most powerful and wealthy in the country. But all of this was because of Fazilet: that woman did everything she could to get into that family, and once she was there, she didn't care what she had to do, but she was going to make sure her daughter was in a position that no one could touch, which also gave her status.

This character is really quite complicated, or rather, they all are, because there are no truly “good” characters here; they are all morally questionable. Fazilet, even though she used thousands of tricks to climb to a different social position, always took her daughters with her. So yes, it is also a mother's struggle, not in the best way, but it was there.

Ece, que fue la más manipulada por Fazilet y le seguía todos los planes por más locos que fueran, puede verse como esa hija que siempre sigue a su madre. Pero llega un punto donde ya no puedes decir que es solo por ella: Ece también quería la posición social, el dinero, el poder.

Y Hazan, que por mucho que no siguiera los ideales de su madre, tampoco hizo nada al inicio para sacar a su hermana de ese desastre de la familia Egemen. Porque sí, podían tener una buena imagen, pero como siempre: pura fachada. Y les cuento que Hazan terminó saliendo con los dos hermanos de esta familia, aunque claro, no fue de un día para otro, hay muchos capítulos para que todo eso se desarrolle.

Ece, who was the most manipulated by Fazilet and followed all her plans, no matter how crazy they were, can be seen as the daughter who always follows her mother. But there comes a point where you can no longer say it's just because of her: Ece also wanted the social status, the money, the power.

And Hazan, even though she didn't follow her mother's ideals, didn't do anything at first to get her sister out of that Egemen family mess. Because yes, they may have had a good image, but as always: it was just a facade. And I'll tell you that Hazan ended up dating both brothers in this family, although of course, it didn't happen overnight; there are many episodes for all that to unfold.

Si nunca has visto este formato antes, tienes que prepararte para molestarte con todos los personajes porque de verdad ninguno se salva. Y sí, tiene bastantes capítulos, así que si te animas a verla no puedes hacer maratón de un solo día. Yo la recomiendo para verla calmadamente, como un capítulo por día, así tienes tu novela de las tardes.
