The past month I've written three blog posts (#1, #2, #3) which were feeble attempts to draw attention to the Splinterlands game and its tokenomics. What's unfolded over the last couple of weeks and the broader crypto market correction has resulted in SPS plummeting by nearly 25%. However, when the crypto markets were pumping, we didn't witness the same moves as BTC, ETH or altcoins experienced in splinterlands tokenomics.

Recently, a friend posed a question while we discussed Web 3.0 games. I was excitedly showing him all the cool features and giving him a rundown of its mechanics. He stopped me and asked, "Will it do a 100x like the Solana memecoins?." I explained to him that such a perspective was flawed; they aren't even in the same league. Nonetheless, that conversation lingered in my mind, prompting a realization: perhaps as a community, we harbor a secret hope that a CEX listing could propel SPS to moon. Why can tokens like BOME soar while we seemingly struggle?

Ultimately, we shouldn't fret over whether memecoins are skyrocketing or if the next Web 3.0 flavor-of-the-month game is stealing the spotlight. Instead, we must unite as a community and focus on what will make splinterlands truly great. As the saying goes, "If you build something great, the players will come." Amidst all the changes the splinterlands dev team has weathered over the past year, there needs to be a concerted effort to prioritize:

• Rolling out Land 2.0
• Enhancing the New Player Experience
• Planning for the future: a revamped Mobile App

Yes, call me idealistic, but as a game with nearly six years under its belt and a rock solid track record, let's throw our support behind the splinterlands dev team and afford them the space to deliver. Features that attract players should be the primary focus. As a community, we must rally behind the game, understanding that while a CEX listing would be a welcome, we shouldn't dwell on it. Let's avoid negativity and divisiveness if it doesn't materialize.
