The Equalizer ruleset evens out the playing field, by equalizing the health levels of all creatures based on the base health among them. This ruleset eliminates the advantage held by high health monsters giving lower mana creatures a chance to confront their opponents. Players are faced with a decision; whether to choose a strategy centred around survivability or going full-on attack. Choosing survivability involves choosing monsters that will outlast opponents in prolonged battles. Abilities like Shield, Void, Life Leech, Repair, Heal, and Tank Heal become important. Conversely, going full-on attack prioritizes abilities like Double Strike and Retaliate seeking to overpower the opposition.

In this battle, I let my opposition provide the high base health and he delivered. They went with The Kraken as their main tank and therefore gave all monsters a base health of fourteen! How did that play out? While best you watch the battle because you get to see two tanks going head-to-head with Lord Arianthus bodying The Kraken to oblivion. It was not even a contest! Once the opposition's The Kraken perished, the rest of their lineup was picked off one by one. I must give a shoutout to Drybone Raider who with its Double Strike ability was destroying the opposition's backline.

Do You Like the Equalizer Ruleset? Why or Why Not?

As someone who loves playing splinterlands, the Equalizer has tripped me up a few times in the past. Do you rely on the opposition to provide the high base health monster, while you focus on filling all slots in the battlefield and therefore benefiting from this. Or do you focus on survivability or full-on attack? Whichever approach you go with, the biggest benefit of the Equalizer ruleset is that it allows low-mana cap monsters to feature prominently and get a chance at the spotlight. Low-mana cap monsters generally have low health and therefore this ruleset allows them to shine.
