Is it okay to get angry?

Can anger be a tool for bringing change? Well, yes it can. Anger may be effective in motivating people to make beneficial behavioural and attitudinal changes. There are situations where anger is needed. And as we all know we have two types of anger which are negative and positive anger. When you feel fighting or defending yourselves, when you are attacked, its means you are angered. For example, a situation where a mother sees her child polluting the bowl of water, she is meant to use for cooking. The mother will get angry at the child and scold him. So that the child can know he has done wrong. This is done to correct the child's bad behaviour. Anger makes us aware of injustice. There are times, people do bad things to us beyond what we can ever imagine or disappoint us, we are meant to get angry, it's normal as humans.

Anger is like fire, and fire can be very useful if it's used right, but if you fail to do it, then the result can be destructive. So we should learn to control our anger, so it won't control us.

When you are angry at someone, or something, use your anger as the motivation to save the situation. I could remember this boy in secondary school then, he was scolded by the teacher, after he fail his test, the guy was angry at himself and decide to do better. He took the step, and he did better.

As we all know feelings of anger arise due to how we interpret and react to certain situations and we all have triggers that make us angry, but some common ones include situations in which we feel threatened, attacked, frustrated, or powerless. Anger motivates me to solve problems and energizes me. There are times when I did something wrong, maybe if I fail my exams, then I get angry at myself, and motivate myself to do better. But there is a type of anger that is very bad, this type of anger is when you feel completely out of control, and you may exhibit destructive behaviour such as swearing, threatening violence, fighting etc. I urge every one of us to avoid this stage of anger, because it's dangerous, and may lead to destruction. We can all control our anger, by not holding a grudge if anybody offend us, thinking before we speak, and using humour to release tension.

I think by now we all know what anger is, the types of anger, and how we can control the negative ones.

I like the example of anger as a fire. That just the perfect way. It depends on how and when we use it. Anger must have it own advantage like it did help the young guy with his studies and also have its disadvantage too

Anger is truly like a fire. It has both the merits and demerits depending on how it is utilized. Although the rate of anger too says how dangerous it will be if acted on at the moment or over time.

Yes! It's super okay 😂

Sometimes you've got to let off some steam you know.

But of course, when you can't control it, it becomes a problem.

Lovely article.

Yeah... Anger rises due to how we react to the situations around us. When we can control our anger, we can then have a measure of control over what happens around us.

Thank you for sharing this with us.

Anger can be a source of motivation to be and do better. When not taken care of, it can also lead to resentment and hatred which isn't pleasing at all. It is always best to step back when angry. It will prevent us from doing or saying something that we will regret later.
