REASON WHY I PREFER READING FROM TRADITIONAL BOOKS AND NOT FROM MY PHONE

Hello hivers

Everyone has their preference when it comes to reading. Some like reading from their phone while others prefer reading directly from books or notes.

Over the years I have read from my phone and from ebooks because there are times I developed an interest In reading a particular novel which I don’t have a hard copy of it. The best I can do at that moment is to go online and make use of my data to google search for the novel then I am good to go.

To be able to read from your phone you must be determined to because along the line you might lose focus and get distracted by doing other things on your phone. That’s one of the disadvantages of ebooks or reading from the phone but one of the advantages is the fact you can read anywhere, anytime and have many books on one device. My lecturer and course representative in college always provide us the student's PDF for all our courses for us to read before the beginning of the semester so we can read ahead and they all have been helpful as I read from my phone anywhere and anytime.

The one I prefer between reading from Ebooks/phone and traditional books
I love reading from my phone because it makes me concentrate and I won’t have any distractions at my side. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t say I don’t like reading from my phone but there are times I will be reading from my phone and fall into the habit of mindless scrolling online or my phone will ring, it might be from family or a close friend, then I will have to talk with the person and forget I was reading. As a student reading from my notebooks or textbooks directly has been the best for me because whenever I hold books in my hand or place it on a table in front of me it’s giving me these kinds of vibes of seriousness and concentration.

I understand and assimilate things fast when I read directly from my books that’s why In college I am always fond of attending all my department lectures so I can write down notes whenever the lecturers are teaching as that will help me when I have to read.

And yes I love keeping libraries because I always feel happy and good when I see books in my room.

It’s funny how I still have novels and books I bought in high school in my room at my parent's place and some in my room at school. I love reading and yes reading is my passion from onset but as I grow up one or two things kept distracting me from being the bookworm that I use to be but still yet I am still good. I could remember I use to buy novels twice or thrice a week in high school because I love reading them and It’s funny how I don’t even have time to read novels anymore as I do before.

So anywhere I ask about my preference in reading it will always be having a book in my hand to read which is having a hard copy of a book.

The magic that a real book possesses, will never be matched by any electronic device.

Yes people prefer the digital ways because they have no choice at times but when you are at home the best you can do is read from your books directly.

I started reading from my phone last semester when my laptop started developing problems. I must say that I didn't enjoy it. Even reading from my laptop has always been something I am trying hard to get used to. I don't think I like ebooks very much.

I have had to try very much to get used to reading from my laptop. Our lecturers don't provide us with hard copies just pdfs, even at that i still try my possible best to get a physical book with that.

Yes it does, if you were reading a book fro m your phone, people will probably think youbare just scrolling through social media and not actually seriously reading.

It seems that you are the typical person who likes to read novels, so since you were in middle school you have read a lot of various types of novels and not e-books. 😁👍

Am in support of hard copy book reading any day any time. If its falls down you pick it up dust it and continue reading.
I had to take some courses online and the material for the courses where on line so I read some from my computer in the office and take some note and when I get home I read on my phone. One night, as i was reading from my phone the call of nature came I tried to resist it but you can never cheat nature. That's how I slept off and my phone fell on the floor the sleep on eyes flew away immediately😳.
I was always poses as a serious student at home. At school, they see girls that read novel as intelligent and soft hearted.
Alot to traditional reading of book. I support it 100% any day any time.

Holding and reading a physical book sets a mindset for me, I know that I am committing myself to reading this book until I reach whatever I deem to be a stopping point. If I read on the phone I wont get very far because I am more likely to swap between apps and check out other stuff just because I have the ability to.

But I think the struggle that readers have between Physical and Digital is the weight. One physical book can easily be held and transported but then add ten physical books and its a different matter! Phones are usually always on a person so it is always there and the weight stays the same.

for me personally my main concern with digital format books is that the text inside can be edited to hide the original meaning or changed to fit social norms. There are many cases of readers pointing out inconsistencies between a physical book and the digital form. So I am sticking with Physical whenever I can!

Thank you for such an interesting post. I hope you continue to share your thoughts on this topic!
