Losing weight is a healthy step to keeping fit physically and medically. And to lose weight, there are like many ways to achieve it. One of them I saw and learnt to be quite effective and easy to do from that family is, Cycling.

Okay, maybe not so easy because I can still remember how the ones with more weight struggled everyday. The process wasn't easy but the result is one that's worth going through the process for. They had many other options going on for them while they cycle to loss weight too but the cycling seem like a fun one for them.

With that in mind, I'll share some tips anyone would need to know if they want to cycle to lose weight. The tips may vary for anyone but make sure to do what works best for you.

Keep track of your progress: Setting goals regarding your plans to lose weight is a good start, measure your weight before you start working on it. Keeping track of every progress can also serve as a motivation to continue. You can take note of this with how easy it gets when you handle your bike or simply take record of the progress in written form.

High-intensity workouts are fine: It may not be easy for some but it could also be too easy for you when you start cycling to lose weight. Giving yourself high intensity workouts with your bike like riding very far distances, riding on hills or go on races with others who could be interested in workouts with their bikes. The more intense, the more fats you would succeed to lose using your bikes.

Don’t diet & improve diet quality: For every body workout or exercise, what you eat and how you eat matters for it to work on you. It is same when you cycle to lose weight, make sure not to diet (restricting your meals) and learn to improve on your diet quality, eating more healthy meals and more fruits. Taking more water when you go biking is very advisable too. Also avoid fasting rides (do not be on fast and go on riding).

Commute to work by bike: If you don't work very far away from home, how about try going to work with your bike? If not, go on short distance errands using your bike. This will not only also help keep your weight in check, you'll also get to save some transport expenses and also have fun with it.

Get plenty of sleep: Sleep as much as you can when you go about your cycling and weight loss journey, it recharges and helps you workout better to achieve good results.

Sadly I use to but had to stop cycling from home to work because its not that easy around the city, ppl down here are very aggressive and unpredictable at driving once I almost had an accident so I decided to stop and just walk, cycling is such a great excessive for legs and lungs, I use to do it because of my joints too, running doesnt go that easy anymore, I still try it here an there but only when I go to places where there are enough space away from traffic ✌️

It's really dangerous out there, even here in my side. I hope you find more spaces to use your bike.

Cycling is indeed good for your health.
And you don't even have to do it intensively to lose weight.
Do be careful with the intake of food after a ride. If you had an intensive ride you can get very hungry and tend to eat more than needed.
Drinking a lot of water and a hand full of nuts are good ways to stop the hunger fast.

That's true, it doesn't have to be intensified.
I didn't know about nuts stopping hunger faster, will try that out.
Thanks for stopping by

Nuts don't necessarily stop hunger faster, but they stop hunger and are way better than produced foods.
It works for me.

I believe this is a great idea since cycling is also means of transportation, it will fit perfectly in a person's lifestyle without any worries of going to a particular location before you can exercise. Moreover if done consistently it is cost ineffective compared to the amount payed for gym services.
