My Diversity Of Hive Friends || Cross Culture Questions Prompt

(Edited)

Glad I was opportune to read a post from @selfhelp4trolls yesterday where he talked about not being able to engage as much as he wants or show love and support to those who deserve his support.

I guess he is not the only one having such a feeling but can we help it? I don't think so, we can only balance up our time and do the ones we can. I wish we have more time or maybe more than two hands like @selfhelp4trolls wished 😂

He started a Cross Culture Question prompt which you would love to participate, so do check out the prompt for this week and let's hear from you.

I'll share mine using his prompt and I hope to read more from others to get inspired as I see that these are prompt are more about knowing ourselves and our culture... Nice one @selfhelp4trolls ✌️

What is something that you learned about the world from being on Hive?

I've learnt that there are so many things some part of the world needs to know about... Especially about the crypto world. I went somewhere yesterday and met some ladies talking about crypto, I was surprised to hear pronounce the "Crypto" word so wrongly... It showed how less they know about it.

I feel a step ahead with Hive opportunities and I view the world in a totally different way than before Hive, I wish for more people to discover what I've discovered here on Hive and I'm working towards that.

What is something that you learned about yourself from being on Hive?

So there are more things I could do better? I've asked myself that question so many times after I joined Hive. Hive keep making me discover myself and honestly, I'm surprised at some discoveries I find but so grateful about them.

Before Hive, I always thought there was nothing I could do better except singing and it wasn't even that I could sing very well but I just wanted to stick to that mentality that I could only sing better and nothing else.

But being on Hive have changed my mentality on a whole lot of things, kept bringing out new phases in my life and giving me more reasons to become better at anything.

What are the cultural demographics of your hive relationships?

Thanks to Hive, my friends from different cultures are growing. Yes, I do know a lot of Nigerians here on Hive but in Nigeria, there are so many different languages spoken and I've met a lot of them here.

Would you believe if I tell you I'm yet to know of some languages in my country? I found out about a few new ones during the cross culture contest few months back. I knew about some like The Gbayis, The Ifes in Nigeria and also got to learn about The Pakistan, The Venezuela and so many others.

So my Hive relationship is diversified, I'm still planning on making more friends from different cultures so I could learn more about culture... It's an interesting part of life I must say.

What are the other demographics of your close relationships at Hive?

There are so many!!! I've met those who showcase their hobbies a lot like @blezyn and those whose personality shows in their posts like @readthisplease it's very obvious he keeps himself updated to update the rest on Hive. I've also met @iskafan who makes me feel like she's an offline friend because of her real personality she shows during our chats.

Communities like Proof of brain, ecotrain, the weekend, Hive cross culture and a few others have made my journey here on Hive better. I've learnt a lot from each community with what they offer and I'm still learning.

Which friend from Hive has taught you the most about another culture?

That would be @amberkashif she came to mind when I saw this question. She haven't been posting much about culture but I still do remember a lot I learnt from her cross culture entries a few months back.

This question just gave me a new resolution, I want to find more people who share their culture and language on Hive so I could learn from them and maybe tag them if I'm asked this same question again in the future.

How did you find your favorite people at Hive?

pexels-photo-2672979.jpeg

I'm not sure if there was a how, I can only remember going around Hive excitedly to read and engage on different posts when I first joined... That I'm still trying to do. But hitting the follow button is some thing I do after seeing a rare quality on such a Hiver.

I look out for how consistent the person is with his or her posts, if the person replies comments on his or her posts and if the person has some things to offer that I would love to learn from.

I don't look into the culture of my favorites but on a long run, I will love to see or read about what their culture looks like and know about their personality more.

Have you had any confusion, difficulty or surprise when talking to someone from another culture on Hive?

Confusion? Surprise? A lot 😂 Difficulty? Not at all, I've never tried to learn any of their culture so no difficulty yet. I know there are some difficulty one would find when trying to learn about new culture and I'm hoping to have such an experience soon.

But about being surprised or confused, I remember during the cross culture contest, I came across a post with so many superstitious beliefs of a culture... I left a really long comment with so many questions on my mind and it was so funny how the person replied with a "I don't know why either" response.

What community would you like to see grow at Hive?

So many communities are growing including pob, ecotrain, Hive cross culture but I'll like to suggest this new community I found out about here. The VYB community, it's a tribe that launched its frontend just recently and is making wave all over Hive already but I'll wish for this community to grow bigger and be of great help to the Hive Block chain.

The vyb community has some contests going on right now especially from one of their account @vyb.vyb and also from @mineopoly to support the new community so you might want to check it out if you haven't.

Waiting to read more entries on this, thanks for reading!!!

Another awesome initiative on HIVE! Is there a better place to find good friends with similar interests as ourselves than here? And the additional value is the diversity of people here, mix of cultures, etc...
I hope that we will have HIVE Fest in real life next year to meet all these awesome people!

I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project and it will be highlighted in the next post!

😃 thanks for participating. I think we can learn a lot from other cultures in just the way people talk about their families or their life, not only from posts about culture. For example, I learned from hearing about a social gathering that @sanjeevm wrote about. It was just about spending time with family and friends but I could see things like people sitting on the floor and eating with their hands which is different from America or Japan.

I also see many friends from Nigeria met their friends in church, whereas in Japan I meet most of my friends in cafes and cafe style bars (many bars aren’t loud or wild here, actually there are so many different styles of bars). I don’t have to make a post about bars to show that. I can just share about my night and show you that. That’s my favorite kind of post at cross culture.

You rock! 8 hands!

Now that is a really cool way to learn about other culture and I'm taking that to note. Reading other subject posts but getting to know about a part of their culture.

We do meet our friends in different places and situations but meeting in cafes is a rare one in Nigeria 😂

Thanks for the questions prompt, I appreciate your comment also

I knew about some like The Gbayis

Men, that's some culture name I've not heard of before, hehe, is it in Nigeria??

Those people you just mentioned are sure lively and great to connect with. But if that @iskafan no calm down she go marry this December
