My Preferred Habitation - Rural Vs Urban Living

For someone who has lived in the rural areas for some years before moving to the city, I'd say I have quite a lot to share about my preference. The rural areas have their amazing experiences to go with that people love to have and that is same for the urban areas, both Habitation comes with their benefits, hindrances and specials.

Which is my preferred Habitation if both are unique in their own way? I didn't find a hard time coming up with a answer to this question because I've experienced both habitation and find myself feeling much better in one of them which I'll reveal as I talk about their uniqueness.

I live in Warri city with my family here in Delta state, a place popularly known to be over populated, extra busy with lots of crazy habitants in it 😅 there's almost no day without one drama or another, I call the people living here "Cruisers" because they find fun in almost everything especially on things that should be taken serious.

One thing about cities, there are always a few places around them that gives off the rural habitation vibe and surprisingly, I like to avoid such places. Yes, I prefer the urban living and I'm sure you must have guessed that already. Living in the urban areas have opened doors to better electricity, better internet connection, countless technologies, better opportunities for me and my family.

I bet that whoever has lived in the rural places will have known just how the urban places are amazing in these aspects because it is more of experiencing it before giving a conclusion on your preference. Living in the city have been from one better living to another and I can say I'd choose living here over and over simply because of the opportunities it presents to me as habitant.

While the rural places may be more peaceful, simple and down to earth... I honestly can't stop thinking about the opportunities that are off these areas. A look at this picture I used is an example on it's own, people doing all the work by their hands when there definitely would be machines for it or a more refined way to get it done.

Hygiene... There are no good hospitals or treatment facilities there but they happen to be the ones practicing low hygiene which I would really want to break free from. Cleanliness is practiced there but I think it is better and well practiced at the urban areas with the machines available.

There's also the mentality thing that comes with people who grew up in rural areas compared to people who grew up in urban area. Indeed, our environment play a big role in how we think, act and accept things. I love to be open to new experiences, new people, new things to explore but I've encountered a lot of people from the rural areas tagging such mindset as being immoral and not contented.

The urban living is my preference and if I want to experience the rural style of living anytime, I'd visit but not to move there. Another thing is, I could create that peace, simplicity and close to nature vibe for myself in the Urban side of the world with money... That's possible.

I didn’t know my boss is Warri babe🥰

Ff: I can’t list to someone from Warri speak pidgin the whole day. I’m sure pidgin originated from the almighty Warri.

I think I’ll agree with you on this one. There are so many opportunities in the cities. I would live and work there and visit my village when I buy new car or when when my wicked uncle finally kicks the bucket 👍🏿

There are many advantages in urban life, but I prefer rural life, but I admit that in terms of opportunities such as employment, it is much better because there are more jobs and services in cities.

Yeah, at least you know the opportunities that comes with living in the urban areas... But it's still cool to live in rural areas too, they have their own benefits

That thing they said about being affected by your environment is real. There's this certain mindset in rural areas and it's depressing. Very depressing. I guess it's why people like me are always found alone in such places because the vision we have it too big and incomprehensible for minds that small.

If anyone want mental peach and happiness, the village life is the best. But if anyone want various kind of facility, then city life can provide that facility. Both of places has its own merits and demerits. It's us food decide which one we should choose and which one will like most.

You’re in Warri and you don’t want to have crazy habitants. Only you is more than enough crazy 🏃‍♂️ 😂.

You’re absolutely right about the urban areas. We might get peace and quiet in the village but then there’s literally not a lot more. There are a lot of opportunities in the city. At least you get access to good health care, electricity and even job opportunities. Just look at at the electricity situation in the city and you know it’s so much worse in the rural areas.

I’d prefer living in the city too although I like to have my peace and quiet since I’m a very quiet person 🤫.

How am I crazy? I'm the most normal person in Warri 🥴

You're definitely not a quiet person, don't deceive yourself

The most quiet? Next joke please.😂

I’m very quiet. I don’t even like talking. 🏃‍♀️

Surprisingly, it’s quiet the opposite when it comes to access to electricity around here. Most urban cities here suffer constant power outages because of the presence of factories and industrial infrastructure that suck up heavy electricity.

I mean sure, most villages don’t have access to electricity at all, which is worse than having power outages, but as long as your village is not too rural, you’re good. So maybe a not-too-rural but neither too urban place would be best. Lol

Lol maybe that would be the best as I think that's the one I'm in right now... Warri isn't as urban as I would love it to be but it isn't rural too 😅

Haha you found you a mid-urban-rural city. My town is something like that, but I can’t call it a city, because it hasn’t climbed the ranks yet.

Hmm, warrior babe why am I no surprised, worry no dey carry last, the benefits of living in the urban area, outweighs living in rural areas, and as you have stated, when there is money, you can create your peace and tranquility in the city.

I have lived in both too and I know the difference as well. I also prefer the urban life, they both can't compare. However, I still miss village for fresh fruits and vegetables and fresh palm wine. Hahaha. I always join my brothers to drink it along with pepper soup. Haha. Nice entry. All the best to us all

Well, that's true for most areas anyway.

I stayed in the rural areas all through the Covid pandemic and well, most of these are true.

Just that some rural areas have advanced in recent times anyway.

My village has strong Airtel connection, so you must buy an Airtel SIM if you want to be sane throughout your stay😂

They also have regular 4hrs light everyday but my powerbank saved me the stress.

can't stop thinking about the opportunities

There are also opportunities in the village also🙄.
Farming, palm-wine tapping, cooking and many others.

Why don't you know how to tap wine?
Is it not Opportunity?

There are no good hospitals or treatment facilities

No comments about this😢 but you can start building them though because it is important to note that more than 60% of persons in the urban areas also couldn't afford these machines you're talking about, so why don't they come over to village so we live together 😂

Don't mind me, that was great reasons and a well organised piece.
I just wanted to look for peace
