Sacrifices Of An Eldest Daughter For Family [LOH 175]

My special thanks to @nainaztengra for this question, another forum for ladies to share with their fellow ladies what they don't get opportunity to share. I would love to invite my fellow ladies to join in on this one, here is the main part of the question...

Have you ever sacrificed anything important for your loved ones and never spoken about it? Would you like to share your story with us?

As the first child and eldest daughter in my family, I'm born to make sacrifices where necessary for my family and even though some may have been because of pressure, some were done voluntarily because I love my family and I always want to do what would be a favour to my family.

A lot is expected from an eldest child in my part of the world and I'm not left out as I have two siblings to guide by being in my best behaviour most of the times. This isn't an easy task, I see it as a daily sacrifice for my family so as not to bring any form embarrassment or shame to them.

Family comes first for me as they are the first loved ones I have growing up and I feel like I owe them my life for being who I am today. Well, I can't give my life since I'm not Jesus Christ lol and so I choose to give what I can and be a blessing to my family in any way possible.

While there are a lot of sacrifices I've done for my family, there's one that stands out for me. It was something I had to do at that point in time but couldn't say anything about it to anyone. I'm not one who shares everything I want to do especially for my family but a few times, I do talk to mum or sister about them.

One time, I had to send all the money I had on me to my family for something important at that time. Believe when I say, I had it a bit tough at that time and had to manage through until I got something unexpectedly. It may had not been for a long time but I realized again what it means to be of help to my family no matter what.

How my family appreciates even the littlest of things I do is the only motivation and strength I need to carry out my responsibilities as an eldest daughter especially in the sacrifices I have to make going forward.

One thing is clear though, my dad has made more sacrifices for our family than I have and I appreciates he teaches that with good examples to follow. I'm a proud daughter of my family, willing to give what I can at to any time of my life.

Someone once said, "it's not easy to be an eldest child but it is what helps keep that child in check and on a good path as they learn to take responsibilities."

I'm the eldest among my siblings too. We bear an additional responsibility and as an example to them. My Mom was the primary breadwinner and my Dad was a Sous chef when working but he felt right at home being home but that didn't change what was expected of me. ❤️

Glad we see these things in the same light, we were decided to be the eldest and so we must take the responsibilities that comes with it 😊

If sometimes we make great sacrifices to help the family, the good thing I see is that your family is grateful because there are other families who do not take those sacrifices into account. Very successful. A hug @merit.ahama

Si a veces hacemos grandes sacrificios por ayudar a la familia, lo buenos que veo es que tu familia es agradecida por que hay otras familias que esos sacrificios no los toman en cuenta. Muchísimo éxito. Un abrazo.

Yeah, it's really a great feeling to know they appreciate even the most little ones.
