The Children's Play - The Ink well Prompt #86

George and Emma hurried into the school bus excitedly, they hardly did as they always felt they were being forced to go to school but that day was different. They had met a rare adult man who just wanted to have fun instead of studying.

Getting into the bus, it wasn't the man anymore but the usual school bus driver who was as stiff as their principal at school and their parents at home. They frowned a bit and decided to accept their reality.

The two were good students, too good that they hardly have time to play as the school give out more work to it's students even during break periods. George and Emma kept wishing to meet the young man who knew so well how to play children's play but it felt like their wait was never going to be compensated.

Two weeks after the last memorable time they had at an amusement park with the random adult, he showed up again inside the school bus and the stiff man was deeply asleep. All the kids including George and Emma were so happy, they didn't even bother to ask why the other driver was asleep at such a time.

The random man whose name happened to be Mr Clark announced their next place of children's play. He had always had the dream of making kids happy and he did it with so much pleasure. He took the kids to have another round of fun, picking pebbles, building sand houses and playing hide and seek.

Everything was going when until he scared a child with the "Boo" sound and a clown made face, the child had an outburst of tears that he couldn't stop so he decided to take them back to their classes. The other kids were not happy that the fun was ending but they had to end it.

At home, the kids began to tell their parents about their new bus driver and begged that they ask the school to have just him carry them to school. As the kids do know their parents, they never mentioned the exact reasons they liked the new bus driver but they made sure to convince their parents.

And it was done, Mr Clark became the new bus driver after a long meeting that wasn't in his favour as they felt he was too immature to be given the children to him in care. Mr Clark felt like his dream came true, he played with the kids every day before taking them to their classes. The kids got brighter in their studies and stopped being anxious like they normally did before they met Mr Clark.

He got caught one day when he forgot totally about their classes and he played with the kids till nightfall. Even though he was misunderstood at first, Mr Clark was able to make the school authorities and the kids' parents see reasons with him on his recent actions. The kids supporting and speaking their mind, changed everything for their school life.

Things got easy for the kids with lots of break time and study time, they could have fun and also study hard. Mr Clark stopped working when he saw that his mission had been accomplished, he knew about the stiff school long before he became the school bus driver.
