Our Father in heaven, who is a Great God, can forget evil things. As wide as His memory is, He can forget evil things. God is perfect in memory, how come that He can let go of evil things easily? With that reasoning, Bro Eli let us know that there are evil forces which control people's minds and make them keep remembering evil things.
The inability to forgive people is from the devil. There are evil forces which control our hearts and stop us from forgiving those who offend us. Bitterness and strive comes from the devil. Evil forces influence our hearts and minds so hinders us from forgiving people and forgetting the evil they do to us.
Forgiveness is an attribute from God. We should allow the spirit of God to control our hearts so that it will be easy for us to forgive those who offend us.
