Will Power

If you have the will power to achieve your target, then you will do it easily, no matter how much trouble comes. About thirteen years ago I experienced the best example of will power. At that time I was struggling for getting a job. You know how difficult it is to find a good job that suits your profile. Sometimes it takes years to find a job as per your choice. The same thing was happening with me. Despite giving interviews at many places, I was not able to get a job. The reality is that I hadn’t have any job experience. I did not know exactly where and to whom to apply for a job. My morale started to break down.

One day I went to a company for an interview. After the interview, I left the office and started moving towards the metro station. Then someone called me from behind. I looked back and saw a handicap boy calling me. Both his legs had paralyzed due to polio. He was walking with the help of handicap underarm. The boy was asking for the address of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India because he wanted to study chartered accountant (CA). I was astonished to see him. Despite having paralyzed both his legs, he wanted to do something in life. I was stunned to see his will power. If I talk about myself, then all my organs were fine, yet I was losing courage due to not getting a job.

At the age of six months, the boy was diagnosed with polio, in which both his legs became thin and weak. However, polio vaccine is given to all children after their birth. It is not known whether he was administered polio vaccine or not. Polio is a virus that shows similar symptoms to the flu. for example : Fever, sore throat, tiredness, headache, abdominal pain, and weakness and vomiting.

At the age of six months, both the legs were paralyzed, he could not have fun like ordinary children. He must have been deprived of many happiness. He would not have been able to take part in sports at all. Both his legs were very thin and weak. Had his handicap underarm been removed, he would have fallen to the ground. Seeing him, I started getting courage. A handicap boy was showing so much courage, then why not me?

I was completely impressed with that boy. I myself took him to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He reached the institute by walking with me for fifteen minutes with the help of a walking stick. He had come from another state to study chartered accountant. His father was a cop. That boy boosted my willpower.

I resolved that I will never give up in life, no matter how much trouble comes, I will keep trying to fulfill my purpose. If a handicap boy can come from one state to another to study Chartered Accountant, then why can't I? I was determined that I will not give up and will work harder to fulfill my target. He was an inspirational boy for me.
