Nutritious Breakfast 🍚 🍳 🥒 (Bai Sach Chrouk) - Grill Pork & Omelette
Welcome everyone of Foodie Bee Hive, what do you usually have for breakfast? The breakfast I will show you today call Bai Sach Chrouk which is a savory fry egg and grilled pork served with rice and tangy pickled radish cucumber which is one of the most Cambodia popular breakfasts that I usually have in the morning.
Ingredients

Step 1
Marinade ingredients
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- Juice from 1 lemon or 4 pieces
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1/2 tablespoon of sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon of salt
Let’s combine the soy sauce, lemon juice, sugar, soup powder and garlic powder in a large bowl.
Next, add salt and pepper to taste. After that, mix it together. Allowing the meat to marinate for at least 1 hours after we have mix it well. When I’m making the marinade, I always check to make sure the powder garlic is really crushed finely to spread over all the pork pieces.
I choose pork belly for this recipe because it is perfect for grilling and it has a good enough fat content that keeps the meat moist and flavorful.
Step 2
While waiting for the pork belly to get marinated, we should have prepared our rice. For 6 cup of rice, I add 7.5 cups of water to cook rice, in this case I use jasmine rice or you can use other types of rice after we maintain the water already, we cook it on the stove or in the oven as usual.
Cooking rice in the microwave is just as fast as using the stove, but for me it’s more hands off. Make sure that when the rice is cooked, we place it on the plate.
Step 3
Crack the eggs into a bowl, I add 1/3 tablespoon of sugar and 1/3 tablespoon of salt, mix it well together. Then, heat the oil in a pan (non stick if possible), I pour about 1 tablespoon of olive oils and next, pour the mixture egg in, fry it over a medium heat.
Step 4
We set the fry egg aside and now we back to cook our pork belly. You can preheat the oven now, and it should reach desired 218 Celsius (425 Fahrenheit) when the pork is finished marinating.
Step 5
While waiting for the pork to cook, let’s prepare our fry egg. Before we prepare them on the plate of cooked rice, we need to cut it into piece nicely as the size we want. For me, I cut it to a bit longer so that it will looks more preparation.
Step 6
This is how we prepare the breakfast on the plate, the pork belly that we grill haven’t cooked yet, so I would like to cut the cucumber to piece and the fry egg, prepare surround the plate like that or you can organize it into different way as you prefer.
Step 7
It was about 20-30 minutes and our pork belly is cooked.
We cut the grilled pork into small piece.
Transfer it to the plate, we prepare it nicely with the idea you want.
Step 8
Finally, sauce. This is salty soy, tangy lime and a kick of chili. First, we add about 1 tablespoon of soy sauce.
1 piece of lime.
Combine the lime and soy sauce together and at the end add chili on top.
Here, we got the sauce to serve with rice 🍚.
