Steal Like an Artist: Recommendation to Platform Users

Today, I would like to present a worthwhile book to all investors and people who regularly write or create posts on publishing platforms.

Steal Like an Artist, has the typical style of Keri Smith, author of Wreck This Diary and The Imaginary World Of--- . Dare I say Austin Kleon stole a little bit from Keri Smith. Which, incidentally, wouldn't have offended him in the least.

How many of you have found yourself in a situation where, in order to complete a post, it was necessary to copy something from somewhere, either by inspiration or by copying itself?

Kleon, the author or “stealer”, begins the book with an interesting question, based on the famous biblical verse found in Ecclesiastes. ''There is nothing new under the sun''. And it suggests that all art is in fact a copy of another. Then he asks the question that starts a series of thoughts.

The question is ''Is it worth stealing?'' If your answer is yes, you are on your way to reading on. If your answer is no, you are sent back to the original question, in an eternal loop, until you understand that stealing is not only worth it, but is inevitable.

I'm not handing the entire book over to the reader, I'm just at the beginning of what seems to me to be one of the best books for opening up creativity. Amid quotes from famous, he tells the differences between a robbery well done and a robbery poorly done. Not stopping there, other questions are raised, which makes us wonder how many things are copied from others, and we don't even realize it.

The 10 tips for creativity are the title of each chapter, and the author develops them all very well, bringing examples that he says he is just stealing from others. What makes us think. If Kleon did well stealing ten ideas already created by other artists, developing and testing each one of them with the reader, honestly, it's worth stealing someone's ideas and carrying out a well-done theft.

To complete, we see newspaper clippings by the author himself. He cut out strips of newspaper, painted them with pilots, and left only the words he wanted. Although they are in English, there is a translation below each newspaper file. Switching to Portuguese would make the book no longer belong to the author. Which is very different from stealing.

Austin Kleon's theft is nothing more than being inspired by a thing, and developing it in a perfect way.

The most interesting thing about my reading of this book was that... I finished it in one day. To be more exact, in 4 hours. The book is small, and there are pages with just one picture, or some with just one sentence. Which doesn't take away from the fact that the book is amazing.

This is a book that stands out for being ''small'' and simple. Few pages, objective, however, reflective and made of art. He gives you challenges to meet. It makes you think about creativity, plagiarism, inspiration, life projects and art.

If you decide to read, good luck. And have a notebook to write down. It might be interesting to share with others what you've learned and the next time you're inspired by someone to create a post on some platform, your writing will definitely come out better.

Whatever your language, the learnings to be gained through this book are of great value.

Hoje, gostaria de apresentar um livro que vale a pena a todos os investidores e pessoas que escrevem ou criam posts regularmente em plataformas de publicação.

Roube como um Artista, tem o estilo típico de Keri Smith, autora de Destrua esse Diário e O Mundo Imaginário De--- . Ousaria dizer que Austin Kleon, roubou um pouco de Keri Smith. O que por acaso, não o deixaria nem um pouco ofendido.

Quantos de vocês já se viram me uma situação onde, para completar uma postagem, foi necessário copiar algo de algum lugar, seja por inspiração ou pela cópia propriamente dita?

Kleon, o autor ou “roubador”, começa o livro com uma questão interessante, baseada no famoso versículo bíblico que se encontra em Eclesiastes. ''Não há nada de novo de baixo do sol''. E sugere que toda arte é de fato uma cópia de outra. Em seguida, ele faz a questão que inicia uma série de pensamentos.

A questão é ''Vale a pena roubar?'' Se a sua resposta for sim, você é encaminhado a prosseguir com a leitura. Caso sua resposta seja não, é encaminhado de volta a pergunta inicial, em um eterno loop, até que entenda que roubar não apenas vale a pena, mas é inevitável.

Não estou entregando o livro todo para o leitor, apenas estou no início do que me parece ser um dos melhores livros para abrir a criatividade. Em meio a citações de famosos, ele conta as diferenças entre um roubo bem feito e um roubo mal feito. Não parando por aí, outras questões são levantadas, o que nos faz pensar em quantas coisas são copiadas dos outros, e nem percebemos.

As 10 dicas para criatividade são o título de cada capítulo, e o autor desenvolve todos eles muito bem, trazendo exemplos que ele diz estar apenas roubando dos outros. O que nos faz pensar. Se Kleon se deu bem roubando dez ideias já criadas por outros artistas, desenvolvendo e testando cada uma delas com o leitor, sinceramente, vale a pena roubar umas ideias de alguém e realizar um roubo bem feito.

Pra completar, vemos recortes de jornal do próprio autor. Ele recortada tiras de jornal, pintava com pilotos, e deixava apenas as palavras que queria. Apesar de estarem em inglês, existe uma tradução em baixo de cada arquivo de jornal. Mudar pra português, faria com que o livro deixasse de ser do autor. O que é bem diferente de roubar.

O roubo de Austin Kleon, nada mais é do que se inspirar em uma coisa, e desenvolve-la de uma forma perfeita.

A coisa mais interessante na minha leitura desse livro, foi que... Eu terminei de ler em um dia. Pra ser mais exato, em 4 horas. O livro é pequeno, e existem paginas com apenas uma foto, ou algumas com apenas uma frase. O que não tira o fato do livro ser incrível.

Estamos diante de um livro que chama a atenção por ser ''pequeno'' e simples. Poucas páginas, objetivo, porém, reflexivo e feito de arte. Ele te dá desafios a serem cumpridos. Te faz pensar sobre criatividade, plágio, inspiração, projetos de vida e arte.
