Being consistent as a key to unlock a succesful future (+ one Splinterlands giveaway) - Day 21

avatar

It is difficult for me to write every day, as some days are harder than others. I may have not enough time, I may need to cook and freeze some food portions as lunch pack for work, I may be busy whole day, yet, there is some strange satisfaction when the day is gone, and I know that I ticked another post, once more.

I am trying to improve, on multiple fields at once, and more than often, time is an issue. I want to go to gym or swim a bit more, to burn some fat and get some resilience, I want to stop using any caffeine and caffeine related products (the addiction is strong on this one), and some future day even reduce my sugar consumption. I am trying to improve my sleep, not as in getting longer, but deeper, so increasing my sleep quality is tied to many other factors (hence exercise and no caffeine diet). So many things, so little time.

I monitored my time for a few days, and the data, while I have improved a bit, is far from ideal. Just take a look:
Sleep - 35% of my time
Work - 26%
TV, PC, Phone - 21%
Food, cooking and shopping - 3.5%
Grooming - 2%
Commuting - 2.3%
Relaxing, family time, learning - 7.5%.

So, as you can see, the main bunch is work and screen related activities (I know, sleep, but I cannot mess with that one). Then, a big part of my computer time is still related to extra work, so it is mainly work, with a bit of TV on the side. As for the rest, is barely a dent into my total time (I know, I am lucky, as I am a man, probably grooming and other stuff for a woman may be slightly more).

So, the question is cycling around to the big one: shoudl I retire early? As practice showed me, I tend to get bored if I stay to much at home, so I really need to do something, even if I retire. Maybe a child will keep me busy (wink/wink). Lateral thinking. Other than that, slowly increasing different bags of tokens, with multiple strategies, and enough time hopefully will do the job. One more year until the time I was choosing for financial independence and early retirement. As I am already there, but not yet. Still clinging to my job, in some insane attempt to survive to the normality of our days.

Enjoying my Hive blockchain based games, with a bit of Splinterlands, and some Rising Star or Cryptobrewmaster on the side. Did you guys checked Pegaxy one on Matic already? Oh, and the one with the spaceship battle, is was so long from the last time I play it, I even forgot the name. I have a screenshot though, please remind me the link, I want to check its progress.

  • I am a f2p player, so at the moment my strategy is to try to win as much giveaways as possible ;p
  • Besides that I'm trying to get to silver 3 asap to get an extra chest for my quest with higher chanches of receiving a card.
  • Third aspect of my strategy is to try to flip some cards so I can get some more dec which I'll later use to build out my deck.
  • Lastly and most importantly I have fun playing, otherwise I wouldn't be able to stay focused and active in the community.

I would like to thank the SL community for being so awesome! <3

I may come with some unorthodox suggestions for a future. First, there are cards that once rented, can take you straight to the silver, if you are an active player. think gold legendary of gold epic max level, as they can alone have 10-16.000 power. Look for some cheap ones, even if you do not use it, just to reach silver. if you can make the DEC needed out of let's say 10 battle, all you have to do is to do 15 of them, just to give one example, and you get 2 chest, advancing twice as faster.

second, remember this for the future, the same cost for silver 2 is the one for two accounts silver 3, which will give you 4 chests instead of 3.

My strategy is buying cards on the market to build up my deck and play without renting so far I am successful and have built two bronze deck now, though it's not maxed yet, I am working on maxing it out soon.

Yes, Hoping to get my cards to the silver level, I am actually playing now in Silver with only Bronze cards so it is kind of hard.

Focus on upgrading summoners first. Not cards.

Yep, that is what I am doing now. I am focusing on my summoners.

Regarding winning games, my strategy is to buy those cards, that I am using the most - at least if I have enough DEC/credits at hand. Regarding power, I also think that buying cards off the market - right now I prefer uing #Peakmonsters ( @peakmonsters ) since the bidding function is really a game changer!
I think that buying packs could prove worth it in either the long run, or if you are lucky also in the short term, if you win a card that is really helpful - in the best case a gold foil legendary. But this is highly unlikely.

It is a slightly different story, if you are looking for accumulating SPS or other assets. Regarding SPS the best strategy in my opinion would be to keep a lot of DEC - or put those DEC into Diesel Pools, so that they could bear fruit. Still also cards, packs and other assets could help with the SPS airdrops. And there is also Staking. Staking rewards aren't that high right now, and will most likely still decrease.

Staking SPS is therefore a still a good strategy to get more - but probably isn't the best option to get the most of your DEC and SPS.
On the other hand, staking SPS is important, if you want to participate in certain (more advanced) tournaments, that require you to have a specific amount of SPS staked. And it is very important for the vouchers airdrops and was even more important during Phase 1 + 2 of the Pre-Sale.

Hope I could help!

Have a great day and an amazing weekend!

Ok that sounds interesting! Looking forward to it. Still, my voucher count is very low. Right now I am focusing on earning more SPS airdrops so most of my SPS are being transferred to a SPS-DEC Dieselpool. Since vouchers are not important for me right now, because I am not going to buy so many packs, that I would be eligable for Bonus packs. So maybe for Rift Watchers this is going to be a thing for me again.

I would definitely love to participate in the SPS giveaway ;-)

Cheers,
@andy-plays

I def would not call it a winning strategy, but what I do is:
1st : I Blog. It provides rewards from upvotes and challenges. Frees up my creativity. I learn a lot and I engage with the community
2nd : Stake SPS
3rd : Try to flip cards and packs now.
4th : Play the game (though I believe I'm net negative here). Could be positive, but I don't want to calculate to much and I want to challenge the higher leagues, so rent is eating up my investments.
5th : Sometimes entering giveaways
