EROS DIOS DEL AMOR Y ATRACCIÓN SEXUAL (Comparto mis ilustraciones) / EROS GOD OF LOVE AND SEXUAL ATTRACTION (I share my illustrations)

Eros es un Dios que según la mitología griega es la fuerza primordial del amor.

Es uno de los pocos seres, del cual se le conoce dos nacimientos. El primero, se da en la primera etapa de la cosmogonía que, según Hesíodo, este Dios nació en la posición número cinco de la creación. En esta etapa no se define ningún aspecto relacionado al cuerpo humano. Se presume que era una fuerza primigenia que facilitó el progreso del planeta.

Eros is a God who according to Greek mythology is the primordial force of love.

It is one of the few beings, of which two births are known. The first occurs in the first stage of the cosmogony that, according to Hesiod, this God was born in position number five of creation. Más tarde en la generación olímpica, es decir después en la era en que los Dioses derrotaron a los Titanes, Eros nace por segunda vez.

Sus padres Afrodita y Ares quienes, para algunos filólogos, representan fuerzas que se contraponen. En mi opinión revisando la Biblioteca de Apolodoro, también echando un vistazo a algunos libros que recogen los mitos órficos. Los dones de Ares y Afrodita pueden combinarse armoniosamente para generar una fuerza distinta, en este caso: el amor y la atracción sexual.

Tal es el caso, que el símbolo de feminidad la representa y hasta en nuestros días podemos encontrarlo como un círculo, una línea vertical y otra horizontal que según se debe a ella, mirándose en el espejo.

Por otro lado, el Dios Ares representa la fuerza de la masculinidad.

En cuyo caso también encontramos su símbolo que, es un círculo que tiene una especie de flecha en un giro hacia arriba. Pues bien, entonces tenemos ambos progenitores representados en símbolos comúnmente usados hasta nuestros días. Por lo cual opino que, en vez de contraponerse, son dadoras de fertilidad y desarrollo.

Aphrodite, beyond being the Goddess of beauty, is a fairly powerful deity in terms of feminine strength.

Eros nace de la unión de estas deidades con una forma bien definida como muestran las diversas piezas del arte grecoromano.

Posteriormente en Roma se le conoce como Cupido. A lo largo del tiempo muchos artistas han pintado a Eros con alas. También se le muestra siempre en el lecho de sus padres, pero vigilado por el Dios Cronos. En nuestros días es común asociar al amor con el símbolo de corazón. Por este motivo Eros es representado como un corazón rojo en todas mis ilustraciones.

Siguiendo con nuestra historia, El Dios Cronos para el momento del nacimiento de Eros ya había sido destronado.

Está convertido en un Dios de la agricultura, pero siempre asociado a esta familia olímpica. En otras imágenes que fácilmente podemos encontrar en internet, hay piezas de arte donde es Afrodita quien alecciona a Eros inclusive castigándole con su sandalia. Y en otros casos, es Cronos quien le corta las alas.
Las travesuras de Eros son muchas, por ser un buen arquero dotado de flechas, unas de oro, otras de plomo y con ligereza, un tanto de azar y despreocupación lanza sus flechas a las parejas. Las afortunadas, sienten un deseo profundo y se atraen con certeza al encuentro sexual, las otras, quienes son golpeadas por el plomo, están destinadas a detestarse.

The lucky ones feel a deep desire and are certainly attracted to the sexual encounter, the others, who are hit by lead, are destined to hate each other.

¿De seguro conoces a Eros?

• Conoces a alguien y sientes una fuerte sensación que desea consumarse en un tórrido beso. Pero esa otra persona, ni siquiera nota tu presencia. En este caso sólo a ti ha caído una flecha de oro.

• Hay una pareja de enamorados que se llevan a la perfección y entonces a Eros se le ocurre bromear y lanzar una flecha de oro, a alguien más. Esta tercera persona representa esa fuerza que amenaza con destruir esa hermosa relación. Aquí podemos decir que, es la belleza de los momentos que han vivido, la que debe sacar esa flecha de ese tercero, como lo haría Afrodita viendo que su hijo ha traído discordia en esa relación.

Are you sure you know Eros?

• You meet someone and you feel a strong sensation that wants to be consummated in a torrid kiss. But that other person doesn't even notice your presence. In this case only you have fallen a golden arrow.

• There is a couple of lovers who get along perfectly and then it occurs to Eros to joke around and shoot a golden arrow at someone else. This third person represents that force, that threatens to destroy that beautiful relationship. Here we can say that it is the beauty of the moments they have lived, which must take out that arrow from that third party, as Aphrodite would do seeing that her son has brought discord in that relationship.

Otra breve historia.

Dos personas se aman profundamente, pero por motivos del destino, asuntos de fuerza mayor la separación es lo más conveniente. Puede que la relación se haya vuelto nefasta, pero el amor aún existe y se vuelve un círculo vicioso donde alguno de los dos está saliendo herido. En esta historia, sólo el tiempo puede cortarle las alas al amor. El tiempo a la final dará la paz a esos corazones que, de seguro, seguirán adelante en una vida más fructífera.

Another short story.

Two people love each other deeply, but for reasons of destiny, matters of a stronger force, separation is the most convenient. The relationship may have turned disastrous, but love still exists and it becomes a vicious circle, where one of the two is getting hurt. In this story, only time can clip love's wings. The time to the end will give peace to those hearts that, surely, will continue forward in a more fruitful life.

¿Qué tan poderoso puede llegar a ser Eros?

En una oportunidad el Dios Ares, su padre, conocido como Dios de la guerra pensó en un arma que, al ser usada, pudiera apaciguar una ciudad entera y terminar una guerra en un sólo movimiento. Entonces encargó al Dios Hefesto la elaboración de un arco.

Cuando estuvo listo el fastuoso arco, Ares intentó tensarlo, hizo muchos intentos, pero no pudo usarlo, decepcionado, le dio el arco a su hijo Eros, para ver que podía hacer con éste, por considerarlo un juguete, un artilugio de decoración. Para su sorpresa Eros pudo tensar el arco, trayendo grandes angustias entre los olímpicos. Armagedón, el arco con que Eros puede ser completamente devastador.

Sólo la fuerza de la masculinidad, se impone para contralar el caos que puede ocasionar una incesante lluvia de flechas mixtas sobre los corazones de los amantes. La voluntad, la valentía y la determinación son las que acompañarán a Ares, para evitar que lo unido por la belleza y la fertilidad terminen en destrucción.
Se requiere la convicción del Dios Ares para evitar una guerra dentro de una relación amorosa. Hacer todo lo posible, para que ese arco infalible de un sólo movimiento termine con lo que un día se unió por amor.

How powerful can Eros get?

On one occasion the God Ares, his father, known as the God of War, thought of a weapon that, when used, could appease an entire city and end a war in a single movement. Then he commissioned the God Hephaestus to make a bow.

When the lavish bow was ready, Ares tried to draw it, he made many attempts, but could not use it, disappointed, he gave the bow to his son Eros, to see what he could do with this bow, considering it a toy, a decoration gadget. To his surprise Eros was able to draw the bow, bringing great anguish among the Olympians. Armageddon, the bow with which Eros can be completely devastating.

Only the strength of masculinity is imposed to control the chaos that can cause an incessant rain of mixed arrows on the hearts of lovers. The will, courage and determination are what will accompany Ares, to prevent what is united by beauty and fertility from ending in destruction.
The conviction of the God Ares is required to avoid a war within a love relationship. Do everything possible so that this infallible arc of a single movement ends with what one day was united by love.

Bajo mi humilde perspectiva, el mito nos revela la complejidad del amor.

Las posibles situaciones que se pueden presentar, cuando no se está consciente de esta poderosa fuerza que sentimos. Afrodita, Ares y Cronos, son los que pueden detener a Eros en su deliberada emoción por emparejar a millones de personas.

Aunque parezca este relato un tanto dramático, en cuanto a ese hermoso placer que representa el amor en nuestras vidas, es un pasaje por la existencia de las emociones que al no sujetarlas con la voluntad que amerita la pasión, puede que el corazón sufra un poco con los anhelos de la perfección.

From my humble perspective, the myth reveals the complexity of love.

The possible situations that can arise when you are not aware of this powerful force that we feel. Aphrodite, Ares and Cronos are the ones who can stop Eros in his deliberate excitement to match millions of people.

Although this story may seem somewhat dramatic, as for that beautiful pleasure that love represents in our lives, it is a passage through the existence of emotions that by not holding them with the will that passion deserves, the heart may suffer a little with the desire for perfection.

El amor tiene alas.

Y si resistimos sus defectos, podemos volar en un mundo de sensaciones eróticas que aparte de placer, nos dará enorme gozo espiritual. Es frágil, travieso, exótico, pero sobre todo divino.

Love has wings.

And if we resist its defects, we can fly in a world of erotic sensations that, apart from pleasure, will give us enormous spiritual joy. It is fragile, mischievous, exotic, but above all divine.
