Italian Caribbean - Welcome to Sardinia 🌊

My entry for the Natural Scene contest is bringing you to what is known as the “Italian Caribbean”, that’s Sardinia.

Before talking about Sardinia and my trip there, I want to thank @galenkp @tarazkp for their huge efforts to create engagement in the community and to @meesterboom for joining forces with the "Hive Magic Brothers".

All of these pictures have been taken from me during my vacation with my wife Mary in Sardinia, in the Summer 2020.

I am choosing these pictures, because Sardinian sea is famous across all the world and I am an eye-witness of its beauty, special typical food that can be found there and the people that are very much welcoming until you do not harm the place. I loved that experience.

Following Pictures are Cala Luna (Moon Beach) and Cala Mariolu. Mariolu is a local term defining a thief in a friendly way.

I sincerely fell in love with Sardinia. Such a magical place, with such a warm environment, people, and all the rest.

During summer is quite crowded, but despite all the other massive turistic places we have in Italy with a far worse sea quality, Sardinia stays quite cheap for the quality of life it offers. And by quality of life I mean relax, nice views, food. Not luxury and other fake things.

I think that every amazing place is much enriched by some traditional dishes and foods. So here a great dishes of home-made gnocchi with tomato sauce (NOT ketchup!!).

A nice “cuoppo” (meaning “cone”) full of fried fish.

And the most famous, the Seadas, a traditional dessert, that is fried special bread with fresh cheese inside and honey on top.

And finally, this is me, when I bought the inflatable lifesaver with the pineapple shape.

Even the lifesaver I exploded against a wave (yes, lol) was sooooo old, I felt so guilty with the killer glance from my friend’s wife, that I felt obligated to buy it back.
And well, here is a Pineapple shape because in Italian we have a specific motto, about 🍍. It’s quite vulgar so I withdraw it from posting it here, but it’s very nice and funny :D and I said it when bringing the lifesaver to my friends, creating a great occasion for a big laugh.

Edit: I forgot to mention that NO FILTERS have been used in all pictures!

Ah Sardinia that’s one place I would love to visit! We spent two months or so in Tuscany years ago and it was quite wonderful but we didn’t get to spend much time at all at the coastlines or the islands. I would love to go back there one day in the future!

Tuscany is very nice as well but very different from Sardinia and not just from the "seaside perspective".
Tuscany has very strong culture as well, a lot of art and history.
Sardinia is somehow wilder. That's why I love it

Absolutely! A great water, nice fishes, not too many people (avoiding the most crowded places) and a lot of relax!
