The roles of parents

No one comes into this world on his/her own, there must be a connection between two people, a man and a woman for a child to be born into this world. According to most religions a child is a gift from God to mortal married couples.

The moment a child Is born into the world, the parents have to take 100% responsibility for the child's upbringing, protection and education. That is a burden the father and mother have to bear before the child comes of age and is able to take care of him/herself.

During the process of upbringing, parents form unbreakable bonds and connections with their children, one that even forms their future. Some parents love their children so much that they take the liberty of planning the child's future on their own. This always ends in dismay, as hatred and regret will always lie at the end of the tunnel. Parents are placed on earth by God as guardians with the responsibility of guiding the child to his/her destiny, they are not given the liberty of planning the child's future, this aspect is left for the child, Destiny and God.

This theory is unrealistic to parents of this generation, most parents feel they own their child, and that means they can dictate all the experiences, activities and even behavior of their children. This will always push the child astray and into the wrong path of life.

Nowadays parents pick the schools, leisure activities, friends and even careers of their children. Some say " As long as you live under my roof, you have to do as I wish", as I have heard from one sometime ago. This is very wrong and should be stopped. If this continues the community will definitely turn against itself one day causing wars and conflict.

Parents should simply know their role. Show love and bring up their children in the right honest way, at the same time giving the child the liberty and responsibility to draw his/her path in life. This will definitely give birth to a more progressive and united community.
