Salinas, the story behind the spa and this magical forest // Salinas, la historia detrás del balneario y de este mágico bosque
¡Buenos días abejitas! Hoy quiero contarles sobre el balneario donde vivo en este momento. Se llama Balneario Salinas, se encuentra en Canelones, sobre la Costa de Oro en Uruguay sobre el kilómetro 38,5 de la ruta Interbalnearia e intercede en la ruta 87. Sabrás que llegaste al centro de Salinas cuando veas el famoso ARCO de SALINAS. Te dejo una imagen para que lo veas y lo reconozcas si llegas a venir algún verano a vacacionar. Pinmaple:
La ciudad de Salinas abarca otros balnearios: va desde el Peaje Pando, comenzando con Neptunia y Pinamar, luego viene el balneario Salinas, y luego Marindia y el Fortín de Santa Rosa. Todas las playas son muy lindas, con aguas tranquilas para disfrutar con los niños ya que son playas con poco turismo comparado con las playas de Rocha o Maldonado.
Hildebrando A. Berenguer y el Dr. Luis Calzada compran un predio de más de 600 hectáreas en 1936, que luego fraccionarán y dividirán con el objetivo de vender y poblar la zona. Un año después construyen el puente sobre Arroyo Viejo para facilitar el acceso desde Montevideo y también se construye la Avenida Julieta, la principal de todo el balneario. Allí encontraremos locales comerciales, ferias y puestos de vendedores ambulantes de diferentes rubros: comidas, ropa, artesanías, etc. Al final de esta Avenida y antes de chocarnos con el mar, encontramos el "Obelisco" que fue inaugurado en 1952 pero que anteriormente había sido un mástil y al confeccionarlo incorrectamente se quebró poco después, entonces decidieron cambiar la forma del monumento concluyendo en el Obelisco.
Las líneas de transporte público de la compañía COPSA no tardaron en llegar, así como también la luz eléctrica y la línea de teléfono. Lo que hizo que muchos montevideanos migraran al balneario en busca de paz y tranquilidad. A partir de ahí este bello lugar ha estado en constante crecimiento poblacional, no sólo por su belleza, historia y paisajes, sino también por su buena organización ya que es uno de los pocos balnearios que tiene casi TODO lo que necesitamos sin necesidad de ir a otro.
De todas maneras si es necesario, hay muchas líneas de ómnibus que van para Montevideo que es la capital y claro es donde generalmente se encuentran los lugares donde debemos realizar trámites de residencia por ejemplo como es mi caso. Tanto para ir como para volver, usamos varias líneas como el 222, 709, 710, 711, 712, C2, C3 y C4 entre otros.
Pero lo más curioso de este balneario es que le pusieron SALINAS por el parecido balneario Las Salinas en Chile, cerca de Valparaíso por ser tan desértico y tranquilo. Pues en 1937 los dueños de este lugar realizaron un gran trabajo de plantación de 700.000 pinos, 10.000 acacias y 1.500 eucalyptus, labor que culminaron en 1940. Es decir, este lugar sería un desierto de arena si ellos no hubieran realizado ese trabajo. Gracias a eso, a ese gran trabajo de aquel entonces, Salinas Norte, que es donde vivo, se ha inundado de naturaleza, de vegetación, de flora y fauna autóctona, se ven muchas aves como Horneros, Teros, Lechuzas, Pájaros Carpinteros, Cardenales, Perdices, Caranchos, Benteveo, Churrinche, Zorzal, etc..
Disfruto tanto de vivir en este bosque de pinos, acacias y eucalyptus, donde las lluvias inundan de hongos de diferentes tamaños y colores el lugar, donde el sol me regala cada día un amanecer y atardecer con mágicos colores y donde me conecto día a día conmigo misma y la naturaleza. Por eso decidí investigar y encontré toda esta valiosa información del lugar donde vivo.
