Transplanting my rosemary...

Hello there, how's your week going? 🤗

One of my brothers saw me got very excited of the rosemary bush planted in front of the villa where we stayed for a night. I love cooking, so seeing fresh herbs gets me really excited.

Rosemary is a fragrant herb that I love using in cooking. It's evergreen and has needle-like leaves as you can see in my photos. Apart from giving our food that wonderful aroma and flavor, it also has a lot of health benefits. Apparently, it can boost the immune system and improves memory. Maybe you also have heard of rosemary essential oil, we even read on perfume ingredients having a note of rosemary. How versatile and really cool this herb is. It will be nice to have it around...

We live in a place where we scarcely see or find fresh herbs at the supermarket. Oftentimes, I get disappointed and ended up cooking skipping this and that. Or think of an alternative. And sometimes, cooking just puts me off if ingredient's not complete. Simply, frustrating.

I said to my brother, "you think I could give this rosemary a trim? I can put it in the cavity of the chickens that I'm baking." And he said in a loud voice, "no, don't you dare. It's not allowed!" Oops...alright, then.

After we visited a botanical garden, he surprised me with a pot of rosemary, oh not a pot but a little black bag which people are using to plant whatever to sell.

It was a really pleasant surprise. He said, "someone right there has given it for free." Oh well, all I know is I got a rosemary plant now. And a huge challenge in my hands. To be honest, I do not know much about how to look after it.

Anyways, first thing I did was sprayed water on the soil and sprayed water on this little plant. I cut four twigs for the chickens as well, haha. It was great.

Now, of course, I know I need to transplant this rosemary into a bigger pot. We have a lot of empty pots around with a bit of soil so it wasn't difficult to find one.

So here we go...to be honest, it isn't looking very happy at the moment. But I haven't lost hope yet. I chopped banana peels and mixed it in the soil as its natural fertilizer. But we shall see.

The thing is, it has to deal with the extreme temperarure here in the lowlands while it had a good temperature where we got it from up the highlands. Poor thing. Me here, hoping of all hopes that someday this one will flourish and if it doesn't, I will try again.

Thanks for stopping by. 🌹🌹🌹

Cute little rosemary you got there! The pot you planted it in should have a drainage holes or else water you use to water it has no way of escaping and it might rot like this.

Good luck 🤞 with it ☺️
