Tribute to Iranian Women | Creative- Sunday

I created this painting at the time when war was imposed on Iran. I gathered all my colors. It was the day when attack on Minab School happened and 168 school girls were martyred. It was such a tragic news for me that my heart felt like it's withering away.

I picked up my sketchbook and applied pink masking tape around the edges to ensure a clean and neat border, and then I applied various colors.

I tried to create a background setting using two colors red and dark brown.

So, my background color was all set and looked quite good. In the next step, I decided to create a painting of a woman with a white face.

My intention behind creating an image of a woman was motivated by the fact and the narrative surrounding women. The word of Iranian women was heavily exploited and used during this conflict. The US authorities framed the narrative as a "war of liberation". The USA authorities claimed a desire to liberate Iranian women from the oppression they supposedly faced.

Infact, the reality is quite different.

Every region operates according to its own specific context, and a third party sitting in a distant land can not possibly understand the actual ground realities.

Just trust the process and be with me.

It's a tribute to all those brave Iranian women who stood tall and steadfast against the terrors of war imposed by imperial powers.
