Hectic Day
It was a hectic day, not for me particularly, but for a very close person of mine as well. Was kinda frustrated to take the step that has backfired pretty badly.
Almost a year and a half has passed since Bangladesh went through a revolution. We had a ton of hope for changes; we were seeing changes, but not as we expected. Maybe the previous roots aren't uprooted properly, and that's why we are facing backlashes so often. The roots of corruption are still running in the veins; we couldn't extract this, and to me, this is the root of each and every other problem.
So the problem is, lemme share with you.
Here, if we are to travel from one city to another, maybe for distances around 200/250+ km, the best possible transportation is by railway due to the miserable conditions of the roads and heavy traffic jams. But you can't access trains like buses, you need to book tickets 10 days ahead of your journey if you need a seat, otherwise you gotta journey standing for hours. Lemme tell you, standing is a pain due to the overcrowding of people, still, we, the boys, can make it somehow, but what about females? No way they can stand for two to three hours in so much crowd and rushed environment.
None is actually sure about their journey so early, even if they do, getting the tickets is another war due to the demand and supply ratio. The chance of getting one is very, very low. Why? They go to the black market, hell yeah. You won't believe, they sell these tickets in minimum of 2x to 3x prices. The policy makers know this, yet they dont strict action because they too get commissions from this syndicate. Yes, it's a top-to-bottom chain of commands, and the sufferers are we, the root people.
Alternative transportation? Yes, private vehicles like cars and buses, right? Now let's focus on the hectic part of today. The closest relative is on the way to the capital, by car. First of all, by road you gotta cover more distance, the road conditions are very bad, too many traffic jams. If the train takes one and a half hours to cover the distance, and a bus takes four hours, you can imagine now. And yesterday, it took them seven hours, hell yeah. There was a fair in a place, and as it was a weekend, everyone rushed there, making the roads super congested, as travelling a distance of five kilometres took them two hours due to the excessive jam and blockade. So wasnt it a hectic journey?
Like, if they had ensured to eradicate those syndicates, legitimate travellers would have got the tickets. Also, a proper transportation medium and road safety to ensure a proper travel experience is what seems to be impossible to achieve.
So, as a whole, it was really a hectic one, as I spent hours waiting due to the delayed schedule. To be honest, these kinda stuffs has become very common here due to the unplanned execution of plans and those syndicates that are exploiting the general people.
