In Search of Thirsty Souls

There are different phrases in life where we do get interested in different things, often there are things that we never thought of getting attached to. There are some factors that work behind those choices, different situations and we do go after them. Till my high school, I had always wanted to get rid of books, to me academic books were the first and foremost goal to get rid of. Final exams used to give me joy that I won't need to read them again. I was mostly obsessed with computers and tech stuff like that.

This picture is from 2021, I had purchased lots of nonacademic books to read in my leisure time. Can you believe it? Nope, I didn't think that I would be the person to do something like that. The factor behind this step was an organization that I and a few of my friends were part of as volunteers. The organizations used to distribute books from one person to another to read free of cost with the organization's funded books. We were very fascinated with the initiative and read a few books through it. So from that wave, I was prone to read books, but due to some reasons I had to stop volunteering but the cravings to read books didn’t end. So I ended up buying books, one after another. This picture has some and there were many more.

As I said, I had to leave volunteering for some reason, that particular reason kept me so engaged that even after buying so many tempting books I couldn’t finish any. Oh yeah, just read one, that too after months of waiting, the rest of them are untouched. Will you curse me? Sorry I was helpless, I was so occupied with stuff that I had no room for other things.

2021 and 2022 are gone, but books are still there, I am so distracted with other stuff that I have a 0.01% chance that I will read them. I have another booklist to read, those hard copies are beyond my means so ebooks are the only option left for me. So I thought of parting with those books. It's better if someone reads them instead of rotting on my bookshelf. They don't rot but dust on them makes me sad. These weren’t meant for such treatment, I had a lot of cravings to read them, and I had picked them out of thousands of options. Every pick has its own reason, each of the books is a must-read masterpiece. But I was so much diverted that their value for me was close to zero as my preferences shifted to somewhere else.

Finally, I had to give them away, to someone who would actually read and give them proper respect. Yeah, I have also told him to forward them if someone else wants to read them too. Book lovers take great care of books, one book can be read by hundreds and it would still be the same, isn’t that amazing? Yeah, it is. I don't know where these are roaming right now, or who is reading them but if I ever get the cravings to read them again, I will try to get hold of them once again. Till then, they should satisfy other thirsty souls.

Hahaha
Academic books were not fun to me either
I so much disliked going to school or reading them but I think the reason why you picked up interest in some kind of books is because the theme of what the book is about is something you’re interested in
You can’t just buy a book anyhow

Yeah, thriller was one of my favorite themes too. That worked for me as well, good point.

I think I'm the academic type and have read tons of academic books. Though I've always viewed people interested in tech and computer stuff to be much more smarter.

Hehe. I love to read books and reading book give me an interesting feeling and pleasure. Start reading book in the beginning but after getting used to reading book it's very difficult to leave the habit. I would borrow those books from you if you lived in the nearby place of mine.
