The Most Anticipated Rain

Finally, It's raining……

We were having extreme heat waves, rising temperatures broke all previous records. People died due to extreme heat, I remember the number from a single day reaching 17, many might be unknown and the number of sicknesses is still uncounted.

I still remember I was traveling to another city during the peak of the heat wave. When I reached Dhaka during the midday, I felt like the wave of hot air. No sign of trees, overpopulation, congested buildings, and a huge number of vehicles sum up Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Dhaka's air is always polluted, whenever I reach Dhaka I can sense the difference pretty easily, and now the added heatwave almost made it unbearable to breathe. I went home and didn’t go out without any extreme need.

I felt sad for the day laborers, especially the rickshaw pullers. Even in the extreme heatwave, they are pulling rickshaws nonstop, no matter how hard it is, they can't sit idle. I have seen them and felt sad. I am not praising myself but it didn’t bother me much when I paid him some extra fare seeing how troublesome it was while he was riding the rickshaw just before me, I was sitting idle under the hood, a privileged person.

It's raining, finally!!
For the last two hours, It's been raining nonstop. Finally, the weather is gonna cool down a little bit. But excessive rain brings misery to another group of people, to those who live in flood-prone areas. Last year, a few cities faced terrible floods, and the situation was too bad to describe. Let's not hope for anything similar this year as well.

You may laugh at our situation. It's like a torn blanket, if you pull it upstairs to cover yourself, the legs get exposed, and if you cover the legs then the upstairs gets exposed. Hehehe, that's how it is, pretty hard to balance.

It's been four hours now, it all started with a stormy wind. I went outside and ran home. And then the rain started like a blessing and it's still going on, raining continuously. During rain, the best part is the cool breeze, it's so refreshing. I wish I could trap some inside my room for a few days, lol.

Two, four, five, six, and more. Who has been counting? It rained all night long since the evening. Scrolling through the newsfeed and came across various news like trees breaking down in many places blocking roads or tearing apart electrical wires.

It's time to sleep, I just took my blanket as I am feeling cold, it's gonna be an amazing night for sleep tonight. I am concerned about the families who might have lost their sleep due to this heavy rainfall.
