The Next Ones

There was a time when I used to think my parents or their generation were backdated, used to laugh at their uncomfortableness with tech products, or their struggles to use them. But as I have grown up I came to realise this as a normal thing that would be the same with our generations and the ones that are yet to come. No matter how much we try, their sharpness will always be a step ahead of ours.

How sharp in such cases the next generations are can be found in their actions if we pay close attention. Have you ever used the voice search option on YouTube? The percentage will be very low, but my nephew who doesn't know how to type does know the usage of this option pretty well and uses this to its fullest. The way she tells the name of her cartoons and they pop up pretty accurately surprised me on the first day because I have never used this.

Guess what, today I learned a cool thing from them which saved a lot of time. I do use Google Translate a lot, mostly to find the meaning of a word. As English is our second language so often we struggle to find the meaning in our native language to understand. The ‘word meaning’ is taught in our primary sections, and we still learn them every day.

So far I have always used single words to find the meaning of the desired word, not talking about the usage of sentences. But today, one of my nephews was showing how he uses the new feature from Google Translate to use the camera of the phone to translate all the words/sentences from his notebook at once. I know that this could have been done from many third-party apps/websites from long ago but haven't noticed this in my Translator app until he showed me how he has been using this for his academic purpose every day.

Well it's not like he is outperforming me right now, it's the little things where his brain is being sharp enough to cross me. With time this sharpness will surely outperform us. We would be backdated compared to their sharpness with the progressing world. This is what it is, right now, we are in the middle, experiencing one or two generations being backdated compared to ours, we mocked them and getting ready to be backdated by the upcoming ones, the wind has just started. One of the weapons for them could be the use of AI. We are just seeing the glimpse and expecting the terror of AI, they would mock at us and bring the best out of it for sure.

This is interesting, adulthood is the peak of our life, and we see the past, present, and future better than ever. We do miss the past, struggle to live in the present, and sink in the thoughts of future, pretty amazing! Get it done, before you get done by the next generation of innovations.
