Venting Out Frustration

I am sacrificing something for the service of people doesn’t mean I have the right to vent out my frustration on them. We are human beings, we have our friends & family to celebrate our festivals, now if my work is such public service and I am not able to go home for that, does it justifiable to get angry at the people for whom I am stuck here? I guess, nooo. You knew this was coming today or tomorrow, right?

Eid is knocking at our doors, the day after tomorrow, the greatest festival for we muslims. Now, everyone is getting vacations from their respective workplace. What about the people in the law enforcement agencies? Medical profession in the government hospitals? At least on the emergency wards? Can they all go on vacation at once? Obviously no, some must sacrifice their emotions. Yeah, one option is to appoint the other religious people on these particular days, but they aren’t enough to balance the demand and supply equilibrium.

It was 1.30 am when I got a call from a friend about the sickness of his child. Needs to be urgently taken to the hospital so I did accompany them late at night. As usual, the city is empty, also the hospital. Only the admitted patients and a few more emergency cases are coming one after another. Now the doctors who are here obviously sacrificed their emotions at our service, that's what they have promised to do, right?

When we were in the general ward, they did prescribe a saline for the kid and a few injections to be pushed. Our house is just 10 minutes away from the hospital, as it was a government hospital so the environment wasn’t that good, no private hospitals were open at this late hours, this was the only place to go. So we were thinking of doing what's necessary for us to do right now, instead of sleeping here till the morning we were insisting on them to instruct what's needed or not and if we can go home and come back in the morning. Instead of explaining the pros and cons politely the nurse was behaving like a frustrated soul who is stuck here all alone. Instead of four to five nurses, there was only one, as I told you, everyone is on leave. I asked her multiple times that you have pushed the injections, the saline is running, can we leave once its done as our home is just 10 minutes away, if there is nothing more to do then we will come back in the morning. I know there are certain rules, she could have just said that if you stay we will keep her in observation apart from that there is nothing more to do as of the instructions. She was just talking with frustrations, it was in her tone. So we talked to the other ward's nurses, and the doctor who referred the medicines in the first place. He just said, you can go home but the file will be closed, you would need to see another child specialist in the morning, right now there is nothing more to do, just rest. That's what we were asking for so long, and then came home at 3.30am.

I don't know what's going on in this place at this time when the biggest festival is knocking at our doors. She is sacrificing a lot undoubtedly, but that doesn’t mean she would vent out the frustrations like this. May Allah bless us and keep all of us in good health.

Have a great day,
Take care.

When I see those kind of things like the frustrated nurse it pisses me off. She isn't doing what she is doing for free, she isn't doing it for anyone but herself. She had the choice to go home and either get another job or have her income reduced but she decided to stay and something made her stay, something that she was benefiting from. That is why when my lecturers at school begin to act like they are doing us a big favor by sharing their knowledge I get angry, because I have seen the amount of people that compete for that job and when they get it they begin to act like they don't need it while holding on to it tightly.
I just feel like being like that (the nurse) is very ungrateful.

Exactly, they had choice and they aren’t doing it for free. They forget the oath and mindset they had before facing such situation. That day, a few others complained about her behaviours too, there were other nurse who was polite enough in past.

Sorry for the late reply, I missed your comment. Btw thank you for stopping by and sharing your opinions as well.
