With Maturity | Creative Nonfiction

I would never argue that money can't buy happiness, I used to do in the past but now I can state that if it can't buy that happiness directly from the super shop but it can obviously do that indirectly. Let's move this debate aside and discuss what will I do if I win the lottery right now. What's the amount? Ummmm, I am sure it will be pretty big enough to gimme the freedom of entering any of the top-notch brand shops and picking whatever I need to have without even looking at the price tag. I won a good amount of money, right? I guess so too.

First of all, a grand celebration for my near and dear ones as a surprise party to celebrate the joy hidden inside me. Oh yeah, it would be a secret initially and be revealed step by step. Leaving every wish and dream I would instantly pick having a house, one that we dream of, a big one, with lots of facilities like a beautiful garden to spread a sweet fragrance everywhere, maybe a tiny lake to do fishing occasionally, etc. But a house is a must and a main priority. Why am I running behind on a basic need that many of us already have? Look, I mentioned a dream house, one that will always give me some ultimate inner satisfaction.

What more I would plan to do? Now I would act in a mature way, I am a young boy who has his whole life ahead, so I would do my best to utilize this amount in a very effective way so that I can have my financial freedom for the rest of my life. How so? I would establish a few passive income streams, like businesses, and I would hand over that to my elder brother who is like my father. I would also invest in my friends. Yeah, I have friends who are struggling to start a dairy farm due to the lack of enough liquidity so I would provide the liquidity and they would handle the rest, will get into a contract like that.

Won't I be going for world tours and exploring the best places like Las Vegas to spend that money? Nope, I think I won't do that right now. At this phase of life, I am more concerned about securing my future stability than spending an amount in a night that was worth starting a startup business. Oh yeah, you guessed it right, I would act like planting trees to have the fruits in the coming days, it would surely multiply the rewards and may give me the financial freedom to fulfill those hobbies that I skipped right now.

You know there are lots of fairy tales on my mind that I can have with that money, I can fulfill more of my hobbies, I can go for a long vacation with my love, I can buy a bike or a car, buy the most expensive phones and gadgets, but in the end will they be yielding anything in the coming days? What will happen when I get broke again after spending everything like this? Nooooo, I will create revenue streams and passive incomes, instead of eating the ultimate pie in one bite I would rather choose the journey toward it gradually for it to last for an eternity.

Recently, I have been thinking more and more about my coming days and stuff, as you know this is the age of taking responsibility and so, here I am acting like a mature one, too much excited but I am gonna handle it with calm and safe hands.

One truth is that Money can't buy happiness. But at the same time, there exists another truth. And that is without money you can't be happy. To be a happy man money is an important element. We all know the truth but most of us don't accept it.

Yes, money is a must, but the fact is some get so lost while chasing which creates the real problem. We gotta balance, right? We must know when to break, and when to stop, and only then we may enjoy our happiness.

Thank you for stopping by.

We gotta balance, right?

Of course, we need to balance. It's because everything is good within a limit. Something at extreme level can't bring any positive result for us.

Sounds like a sensible plan. Money can’t buy happiness, but it can buy you time to dream and that might just make you happy! 🙃

Oh yes, that's what I am planning now. Maybe I don't have a lottery but the plan stays the same with whatever I will be gathering.

Thank you for stopping by.

Squandering the money without investing has never been a nice idea and it'll never be.
Just like you mentioned, poverty will surely hit back when all the money is squandered without Investment.

Nice write-up up

Money can't by happiness and this is true, we have the power to create our own happiness.. but I can say I am very happy when I have money

Yeah, who doesn't get happy with money, the problem arises when we lose them all due to mismanagement.

I hope we all do get this happiness in an uncountable number.

Looks as if you know exactly what you would do if you won money; you’d invest it, which is a good idea for the long-term.

Nice, refreshingly honest, piece. It’s immediately apparent that you’ve thought about this carefully and written a response that’s intelligently considered and not designed to pull at the readers’ heartstrings. In fact the reader will go away from this and think - that’s a sensible plan, that’s what I would, actually do, too.

Your conversational tone is engaging and makes this piece both interesting and entertaining. Lovely!

Your point about securing a future stability is a very beautiful thought. Indeed with maturity comes wise use of money.

Oh yes, at this phase of life, I can't think of childish acts that I did with the same question a few years back.
