While waiting for Lucky Bells to bloom...

IMG_20211127_131257.jpg

One week ago I went to a flower shop to look for a plant I wanted to buy. Kalanchoe Lucky Bells, a succulent that I own, thanks to @ewkaw, however, I wanted to buy another specimen of that plant. Those I got from her are growing so nicely, I have shown them several times, and a new update will come soon. But, patience is needed, as I have to wait for the flowers. Yes!!! That was my reaction: YES!! ... when I saw the Lucky Bells will bloom. My eyes saw it already in colors, those orange and pale red bells that will decorate the top of the stems. The reality is that I have to wait, as the full blooming still hasn't happened. I went home without the plant... I decided to wait for our "baby" plant to bloom.

Anyway, the visit to that flower shop was very nice and pleasant. Many phalaenopsis, so colorful ones, but also cacti and succulents, presented in a creative way. I really liked those small hanging decorative pots and the cute succulents in them. An interesting detail, those who have a small terrace with plants can get ideas on how to decorate it even more beautifully. Both the hanging glass ball and the knitted basket caught my eye. As well, the hanging white clay pots from the first photo.

Another interesting detail that I saw... these two cacti that had this white cobweb around them. I know it's not a cobweb, but I imagine it as soft as if it were. It also looks like an old man with torn gray hair. I see thorns under that white mass, so it wouldn't be wise to try how soft that hair is. Just the observation, and a picture ... as I really liked these specimens.

Cacti were always present in our homes, my grandmother had many of them, as well my mother. I have some of them that I found here and there and then I planted them in a pot. The most challenging thing with cacti is to plant them, because of the thorns. I always end up having some of them under my skin. And, although the cacti with big thorns look really frightening, those with the small thorns are more insidious. You don't even notice them, and a thorn is already under the skin of your fingertip. Well, one has to be used to them. The care for them is more than easy, as they are real survivors. But, you have to take care not to water them too much, not to expose them to cold, and the soil should be maybe a mixture of sand and soil.

In the end, here is the Kalanchoe I went for there but didn't buy it. I am wondering will the flowers of my one be this nice as well. I hope so, and even if not, I will love them. A promise is here, the flowers will come here to be shown when they bloom!

Yep, they will look like that :)
Can't wait to see yours in bloom. I am actually surprised it will. It was such a tiny baby not long ago.
Sis you get any little babies on the sides of the leaves yet? They breed like rabbits :D

And the trio on the 11th photo... ohhhh so pretty <3

Time flies fast ;) Yes, it was so small baby size, but as well several months passed already and it has grown a lot. There are some stems that dried ;/ , also one I broke accidentally and planted in another pot, (that one survived and hopefully will bring flowers too as there are the buds ;))

Yes, the trio is pretty 😇 Seems that they like to plant them in that mixed way, it is more decorative then ;D but do the plants like to be that close one to another? Where's the private space...? probably they socialize better than we humans 😂

I started to plant some of my smaller succulents like that too. Instead of multiple small post I have one larger. I like how they look all together and it takes less time for me to water them all in summer.
They did not complain so far :P

I always have a hard time growing cacti because I tend to over water them and as you said, that's a big no no with cacti. I find it really hard to know when to water. They look so cool though

Yes, they can be pretty and bring so nice flowers. I can tell you, the more abandoned the cacti are, they will do better ;D I see so many cacti in nature here, they are growing without any human supervision or care and those are doing so well. If I plant one at home and take care of it etc...it is never so nice as the one that is growing on its own.

Yea, like you said, patience is 100% needed.

One who isn't patient enough may decide to abandon these beautiful flowers as they gradually bloom, others may find different artificial ways to hasten the blossoming process.

But the fact and advice for everyone is: stay 100% Natural!
Have patience and you'll be glad you did!

And, finally the pictures are so good!!!
I hope I can get money from my blog on this Hive community to get a camera, my phone doesn't give me good shots.

Patience, above all ;))
For your new camera too!
The photos in this post were taken just with a phone, and not a very good one, it is just Redmi note 8 😅 but it serves its purpose. For sure, it is better to have a camera, but of course, I dont have it all the time with me so this phone is doing the camera purpose too sometimes ;D

A phone?
Wow!!!
It serves its purpose so well.
Mine doesn't seem to bring out the real colours of an object. It brings am automatic grey colour.

Or maybe I need to learn how to take good pictures 😅😅😅

One very important thing is good lighting whatever phone or camera you use. When I take some photos when the day is not sunny and clear, or if inside and the light is poor, no camera or phone is giving back nice photos.
