(English version in the box) Hola, hola a todos mis amigos emprendedores, tenía tiempo sin pasar por aquí, me alegra tener esta oportunidad de compartir con ustedes una propuesta de conversación el día de hoy.
Hace unas semanas estaba con mi hijo en sus terapias, mientras esperaba pensé que podía aprovechar ese espacio para ir a depilarme las cejas, había pasado toda la semana queriendo hacerlo pero en el trajín del día a día no había encontrado el espacio. Generalmente voy a una peluquería que queda muy cerca de mi trabajo, en el centro de la ciudad, allí los servicios generalmente tienen un menor precio, o al menos más atractivo, pero en esta oportunidad estaba muy lejos de ese lugar, justo hacia el este de la ciudad, que contrario al centro, suele caracterizarse por tener servicios más costosos.
Sin embargo, sentía que la situación de las cejas ya era apremiante y debía resolverla, así que me aventuré a ir a una peluquería que quedaba muy cerca de las terapias del niño. Cuando entré me invadió el temor de que me iban a cobrar el triple de lo que suelo pagar por la depilación, aun así pregunté al entrar y cuando me dijeron el precio (el doble de lo que pago normalmente) dudé por un instante y luego dije “qué más da, necesito hacerlo”.
Desde el momento en que entré, la experiencia en el lugar fue maravillosa, la peluquería tenía una amplia área de estar, un espacio para los servicios de la peluquería y otro para el de estética. Todo estaba impecable, super limpio, y con una decoración que invitaba a relajarse y disfrutar de la experiencia. Me ofrecieron un té de bienvenida mientras esperaba, un pequeño detalle que ya marcaba notablemente la diferencia, además de la atmósfera del sitio.

“The Value of Quality: Experiences that Make a Difference”. Initiative Hello, hello to all my enterprising friends, I haven't been here for a while, I'm glad to have this opportunity to share with you a proposal for a conversation today.
A few weeks ago I was with my son in his therapies, while waiting I thought I could take advantage of that space to go to pluck my eyebrows, I had spent all week wanting to do it but in the hustle and bustle of everyday life I had not found the space. I usually go to a hair salon that is very close to my work, in the center of the city, there the services usually have a lower price, or at least more attractive, but this time I was far away from that place, just to the east of the city, which contrary to the center, is usually characterized by more expensive services.
However, I felt that the eyebrow situation was already urgent and I had to solve it, so I ventured to go to a hairdresser that was very close to the child's therapies. When I walked in I was overcome with the fear that they were going to charge me triple what I usually pay for waxing, yet I asked when I walked in and when they told me the price (double what I normally pay) I hesitated for a moment and then said “who cares, I need to get it done”.
From the moment I walked in, the experience in the place was wonderful, the salon had a large living area, a space for hairdressing services and another for aesthetics. Everything was impeccable, super clean, and with a decoration that invited to relax and enjoy the experience. They offered me a welcome tea while I was waiting, a small detail that already made a big difference, in addition to the atmosphere of the place.


El servicio de depilación fue estupendo, la esteticista era muy amigable, cuidadosa y muy detallista, se tomó varios minutos para preguntar por mis gustos, diseñar la forma de la ceja, limpiar el área. Fue un momento de verdadero disfrute que me hizo sentir en todo momento que valía la “dicha” pagar por ese servicio. Al salir, no solo mis cejas lucían perfectas, sino que sentía mucha satisfacción y algo que me decía “te mereces esto”, no sé explicarles realmente, pero fue toda una experiencia que me hizo reflexionar profundamente sobre el valor de la calidad de los servicios y cómo esto se traduce, no solo en satisfacción del cliente, sino en un verdadero retorno para cualquier negocio.
A pesar de haber pagado el doble, sentí que cada céntimo valió lo pagado ¿Por qué? Porque no solo pagué un servicio de depilación, al final pagué -sin planearlo o si quiera esperarlo- por una experiencia. Entonces pagué finalmente por un espacio de tranquilidad y consentimiento para mí, una atención más personalizada, un ambiente agradable y la seguridad de un trabajo bien hecho.

INICIATIVA
Todo esto me lleva a las preguntas que quiero plantearles hoy:
• En un mercado cada vez más competitivo, donde a menudo nos vemos tentados a competir solo por precio, ¿estamos realmente valorando la importancia de la calidad en nuestros servicios? ¿Estamos invirtiendo en esa experiencia superior que fideliza al cliente y lo convierte en nuestro mejor embajador?
• ¿Has tenido alguna experiencia personal como la que te comparto? Me refiero a experiencias donde la calidad del servicio haya superado tus expectativas y justificado su precio. Compártenos que hizo la diferencia y si ello te llevaría nuevamente a repetir la experiencia.
• Para ti emprendedor: ¿Qué estrategias implementas en tu negocio para garantizar la calidad y cómo comunicas ese valor diferencial a tus clientes? ¿Cuáles son tus desafíos para mantener altos estándares de calidad en tus servicios?

The waxing service was great, the esthetician was very friendly, caring and very detailed, she took several minutes to ask about my tastes, design the shape of the eyebrow, clean the area. It was a moment of true enjoyment that made me feel at all times that it was worth the “bliss” to pay for that service. When I left, not only my eyebrows looked perfect, but I felt a lot of satisfaction and something that told me “you deserve this”, I can't really explain it, but it was an experience that made me reflect deeply on the value of quality services and how this translates, not only in customer satisfaction, but in a real return for any business.
Even though I paid twice as much, I felt that every penny was worth the money I paid. Because I didn't just pay for a waxing service, I ultimately paid - without planning or even expecting it - for an experience. So I finally paid for a space of tranquility and consent for me, a more personalized attention, a pleasant environment and the security of a job well done.
INITIATIVE
All of this brings me to the questions I want to pose to you today:
In an increasingly competitive market, where we are often tempted to compete on price alone, are we really valuing the importance of quality in our services? Are we investing in that superior experience that builds customer loyalty and makes them our best ambassador?
Have you had any personal experience like the one I am sharing with you? I am referring to experiences where the quality of service has exceeded your expectations and justified its price. Tell us what made the difference and if it would lead you to repeat the experience.
For you, entrepreneur: What strategies do you implement in your business to guarantee quality and how do you communicate that differential value to your clients? What are your challenges to maintain high quality standards in your services?


Mi experiencia en la peluquería me llevó a ese “darme cuenta” de que la calidad no es un gasto, es una inversión que genera valor. Una inversión que se traduce en clientes satisfechos y leales, te permite destacar y marcar una diferenciación en el mercado, te ayuda a construir tu marca y una reputación sólida. Por supuesto que dependiendo de nuestros presupuestos no siempre podamos acceder a servicios de alto valor y calidad, pero muchos merecen la dicha de hacer un esfuerzo extra para obtenerlos, ¿no lo crees?
Pd: Un dato curioso de la peluquería, su nombre era “Akelarre”… jajajaja, no sé porque me llamó la energía de ese lugar 😆; pero otra cosa que me paso peculiar fue tener la fortuna de coincidir con una querida amiga y columnista de Holos&Lotus, mi estimada @tibaire, esto hizo aun más agradable la experiencia.

My experience in hairdressing led me to this “realization” that quality is not an expense, it is an investment that generates value. An investment that translates into satisfied and loyal clients, allows you to stand out and differentiate yourself in the market, helps you build your brand and a solid reputation. Of course, depending on our budgets we may not always be able to access high value and quality services, but many deserve the joy of making an extra effort to obtain them, don't you think?
Pd: A curious fact about the hair salon, its name was “Akelarre”... hahahaha, I don't know why the energy of that place called me; but another peculiar thing that happened to me was having the fortune of coinciding with a dear friend and columnist of Holos&Lotus, my dear @tibaire, this made the experience even more pleasant.

Por acá por Cuba hay un refrán popular que dice: "Lo barato sale caro" y, generalmente es así.
Muchas veces, rehuyendo un precio aparentemente menos económico nos topamos con uno más barato y al final, salimos insatisfechos del lugar.
Cuando asistimos a recibir un servicio es para que la calidad esté por encima de todo y, en consecuencia, pagar por ese servicio que demandó de nuestra parte toda la satisfacción posible.
Como siempre, una iniciativa muy buena de la comunidad y espero participar porque tengo experiencias al respecto.

Aquí en Venezuela también es popular ese refrán, y también he tenido muchas experiencias que me lo confirman... por buscar ahorrarme algo terminó insatisfecha o peor... me toca pagar nuevamente para enmendar el entuerto... por eso es valioso encontrar ese punto de equilibrio en la balanza.

Ciertamente amigo @tonyes, los cubanos ahora es que estamos comenzando a valorar la calidad y aprendiendo a pagar por un buen servicio. Es bueno encontrar un punto de vista que comparto.
Creo que eso es sumamente importante, porque independientemente de las circunstancias, dar ese valor hace que los emprendedores se vean empujados por decirlo de alguna forma a ofrecer un mejor servicio para no perder clientela, o al menos creo que así es la cosa 😄
Soy de quienes prefiere siempre la calidad por encima de la cantidad salvo contadas excepciones. Las sensaciones que experimentaste no se pueden cuantificar, como tu salida de la peluquería con la autoestima alta, sintiéndote bonita y poderosa. Ese rato de autocuidado, de recreo en ti y por ti, ¿qué precio le pondrías? He dejado de ser clienta en muchos negocios justamente por el mal servicio. Los productos al fin y al cabo son cosas que varían poco en su valor esencial, pero la experiencia de la compra puede ejercer una diferencia brutal. Suelo decir que el refresco sabe igual en todos los bares, pero no en todos los bares "me sabe" igual.

I still went ahead to order the meal.

I’m not a swiftkey user! I don’t even have an Android phone :-)
I am a Notion user, but don’t use it as all-in-one app though. I think it costs me about 20€/month, but it has the great advantage of having all my documentation available everywhere, also on non-mac systems. I used to use Evernote before, but Notion works better for me at this moment. Same here, have tried several other options, such as Nimbus and such, but never really got what I get from Notion.

Many FOSS apps usually lack in "greatness" (because most of them are only community-funded) and "support" (because they usually have a small team, even down to just a one-man team). 💸🤯 I would safely assume though that given two apps which cost the same and are great in terms of functionality and support and one is FOSS, then you would definitely pay for the FOSS one. 😎

The thing about faster than light, is that once that boundary is exceeded, you're outside of time-space, and can pop back in at any point, instantaneously. In other words there is no transit time. Muchas empresas empiezan a quitar o cambiar cosas que afectan la calidad del producto o servicio para abaratar costos, y esto al final creo que es un sacrificio de clientes, porque no todos resultan felices o satisfechos por ello. Ejemplo típico en los negocios de alimentos, empiezan a servir menos cantidad de comida o hacer las cosas más pequeñas; o en el caso de las estéticas a usar productos de menor calidad, y como estos ejemplos muchos...
Al final creo que también resulta ser un asunto de conciencia del negocio y del consumidor, no lo crees?
Es como una conducta adquirida, moderna y destructiva, esta de ir bajando los costos en la materia prima, y deja de ser de la calidad incial.
No sé por qué la gente cree que el cliente no se da cuenta.
Me pasó con un tarro de nata de una granja que está cerca, donde comenzaron a comercializar una nata deliciosa que me recordaba a la infancia en los campos petroleros.
Era más costosa que las que encontrábamos en el supermercado pero, su sabor lo valía.
Fue un boom en mi zona; ni qué decirlo.
Solo duró dos compradas, y el sabor cambió.
La justificación fue el alto costo de los materiales.

La consecuencia fue que la gente siguió comprando la del supermercado, más económica y por tener "nata para las arepas", como uno dice; y claro está, el negocio pasó sin pena ni gloria.
La gente sabe, no lo olvidemos.
Creo que si hubiesen aumentado el precio, seguiríamos comprándola, pues era el sabor.
Claro!!! Y así muchas cosas. Recuerdo cuando en la universidad discutíamos el caso de una famosa aerolínea que para reducir costos eliminó unas aceitunas que daban a sus clientes de snacks, todos se dieron cuenta y protestaron el cambio; y así muchos otros ejemplos, solo que no siempre sucede como en tu ejemplo que la experiencia del cliente marque la tendencia del mercado, pero me parece maravilloso que haya sido así en esta ocasión.
