¿Cómo están, amigos? Soy Reyna, la hija de @mirnaromer y hermana de @eskandar 😉. Quiero decirles que continuar en cuarentena me ha hecho extrañar los paseos que daba en estas fechas. Cada vez que hacíamos cierre del año escolar, iba de viaje con una Brigada juvenil a la que pertenezco, llamada Brigada Juvenil "Antonio José de Sucre". Por eso pensé en escribir con mi mamá, estas líneas para contarles mi grata experiencia.

How are you, friends? I'm Reyna, @mirnaromer's daughter and @eskandar's sister 😉. I want to tell you that continuing in quarantine has made me miss the trips I used to take during these dates. Every time we closed the school year, I would go on a trip with a youth brigade I belong to, called "Antonio José de Sucre" Youth Brigade. That is why I thought of writing these lines with my mother to tell you about my pleasant experience.

¿De qué se trata?

En palabras del sargento coordinador, "la brigada juvenil es un proyecto de la Policía del estado, con la finalidad de rescatar niños y jóvenes en condición de calle, el rescate de los valores morales y patrios, y la prevención del deterioro de la sociedad". A pesar de ser de la policía, esta brigada no forma policías, solo nos enseña la disciplina, respeto y valor, con libertad, amor y firmeza.

What is it about?

In the words of the coordinating sergeant, "the youth brigade is a project of the State Police, with the purpose of rescuing children and young people in street conditions, the rescue of moral and patriotic values, and the prevention of the deterioration of society". In spite of being from the police, this brigade does not form policemen, it only teaches us discipline, respect and courage, with freedom, love and firmness.

Mis inicios

Teniendo yo 5 añitos, siempre acompañaba a mi hermano cada sábado a la brigada, y el coordinador también me dejaba participar de las actividades, aunque aún no le prestaba mucha atención porque solo quería jugar 😊. Sin embargo, los compañeros, el ambiente y el coordinador, me hacían sentir como una de ellos. Las actividades eran en un parque, al aire libre, con un río en su interior. Me encantaba ver las ardillas libres subiendo en los árboles, subir a los columpios, correr con los demás niños y compartir.

When I was 5 years old, I always accompanied my brother every Saturday to the brigade, and the coordinator also let me participate in the activities, although I still did not pay much attention because I just wanted to play 😊. However, the companions, the environment and the coordinator, made me feel part of them. The activities were in a park, outdoors, with a river inside. I loved watching the squirrels free in the trees, climbing on the swings, running with the other kids and sharing.

¿Qué actividades realiza?

Aunque no todas las actividades me relajaban porque el sol era más fuerte cuando se acercaba el medio día, y el coordinador nos ponía a sufrir dejándonos al mando de los brigadieres, viví muy buenas y divertidas experiencias. Una de ellas fue la oportunidad de participar en una sesión de Rapel, en la que los padres también se sintieron emocionados a bajar anclados a una cuerda. A propósito, les confieso que a mi me dio miedo cuando ya iba a bajar, pero lo intente de nuevo en otro sitio, y vencí mi miedo, y el instructor me felicitó, gracias a Dios 😊.

What activities do you do?

Although not all the activities were relaxing because the sun was strongest when it was getting close to noon, and the coordinator made us suffer by leaving us in charge of the brigadiers, I lived very good and fun experiences. One of them was the opportunity to participate in a Rapel session, in which the parents also felt excited to go down anchored to a rope. By the way, I confess that I was scared when I was about to go down, but I tried again in another place, and I overcame my fear, and the instructor congratulated me, thank God 😊.

También se hacen cursos de primeros auxilios con bomberos de verdad, visitas a los colegios y emisoras de radio, actos culturales, juegos recreacionales, dramatizaciones, entre otras.

There are also first aid courses with real firefighters, visits to schools and radio stations, cultural events, recreational games, dramatizations, among others.

Mis Gratos Recuerdos

Uno de los muchos campamentos que recuerdo fue el que hicimos en Caripe, estado Monagas, en donde se encuentra un Parque Nacional hermoso, llamado Alejandro Humbolt, con una Cueva escalofriante y magnífica, conocida como la "Cueva del Guácharo". También conocimos una caída de agua de ese mismo parque llamada "La Paila".

My Greats Memories

One of the many camps I remember was the one we did in Caripe, Monagas state, where there is a beautiful National Park, called Alejandro Humbolt, with a creepy and magnificent cave, known as the "Cueva del Guácharo" (Guácharo Cave). We also visited the so-called "La Paila", a waterfall in the same park.

Mi Bautizo

Como era la tradición, en esas fechas de agosto, se hacían los llamados "bautizos", para los nuevos (y algunos de los antiguos😐), en el que participé sin saber qué era eso, solo por diversión. Mi mamá recuerda que ese día me preguntó si realmente quería participar, y me advirtió que allí habría charco y que tenía que hacer flexiones y esas cosas, pero yo simplemente dije que si😶😄.

My Baptism

As it was the tradition, on those dates in August, there were the so called "baptisms" for the new 😐 in which I participated without knowing what that was, just for fun. My mom remembers that day she asked me if I really wanted to participate, and warned me that there would be puddle there and that I had to do push-ups and stuff, but I just said yes😶😄.

Fue así como con bastante esfuerzo y diversión, lo logré, y yo junto con otro pequeño niño de esa zona, los cuales ni siquiera pertenecíamos a la brigada aún, ganamos una linda medallita🎖️, la cual todavía conservo💕. Disfruté mucho poder pisar el charco sin cuidado y saltar bañada en agua no muy limpia 🐖 (pero no me agradó el baño para quitarnos el charco porque el agua era muy fría😀😅)

That's how, with a lot of effort and fun, I made it, and I together with another little boy from that area, who didn't even belong to the brigade yet, won a nice little medal🎖️, which I still keep💕. I really enjoyed being able to step in the puddle carelessly and jump in the not so clean water 🐖 (but I did not like the bath to remove the puddle because the water was very cold.😀😅).

Lo más divertido

sinceramente lo que más me gusta de la brigada, son las salidas y los juegos 😏, sobre todo la noche de chistes, ya que en esos momentos de campamento, reímos y hablamos de cualquier cosa... somos libresssss, dentro de lo que cabe, porque vamos con nuestros representantes.

The most fun

sincerely what I like most about the brigade, are the outings and games 😏, especially the night of jokes, because in those moments of camping, we laugh and talk about anything ... we are libresssss, as far as it goes, because we go with our representatives.

Un avistamiento

En otro campamento que hicimos, esta vez en una población llamada Rio Brito, estado Sucre (al cual llegamos tras 2 horas aprox. caminando); una noche mi hermano vio un OVNI, y nos avisó a todos con un grito; al verlo, todos quedaron impactados y asustados, tanto que algunos gritaban, ¡soy muy joven para morir! o ¡me voy a morir y todavía no tengo novia!(😴), cuando le conté a mi mamá, simplemente se rió junto con su amiga, pero después cuando el sargento mencionó que el también lo habia visto, quedó impresionada😐.

In another camp we did, this time in a town called Rio Brito, Sucre state (where we arrived after about 2 hours walking); one night my brother saw a UFO, and he warned us all with a scream; when he saw it, everyone was shocked and scared, so much that some of them shouted, **I'm too young to die! **or I'm going to die and I still don't have a girlfriend!(😴), when I told my mom, she just laughed along with her friend, but later when the sergeant mentioned that he had also seen it, she was impressed😐.

He de decirles que esta vez, también tuve la oportunidad de contemplar lo hermoso del cielo nocturno. Una noche a las 3 de la mañana desperté y salí para lograr ver un mar de estrellas sobre mi cabeza, brillantes y también de colores, sinceramente era el cielo mas hermoso que yo pudiera haber visto en lo que llevo de vida. También fuimos a bañarnos en hermosas cascadas con aguas cristalinas, y muy frías 😧, pero igual me
encantaron😉👌. Sinceramente, un gran espectáculo.

I have to tell you that this time, I also had the opportunity to contemplate the beauty of the night sky. One night at 3 in the morning I woke up and went out to see a sea of stars over my head, bright and colorful, it was honestly the most beautiful sky I have ever seen in my life. We also went to bathe in beautiful waterfalls with crystal clear waters, and very cold 😧, but I still loved them😉😉😧. loved them😉👌. Sincerely, a great show.

Y llegó la Película

Gracias a la iniciativa del coordinador-fundador de pensar en esos niños a veces olvidados hasta por sus propios padres, a su imaginación, y a la disposición de brigadistas, representantes y de la policía, se logró hacer una película, a la cual le dieron por nombre "Dos Caminos" que, como dice el nombre, se trata de los dos caminos que se tienen en la vida, que son el mal y el bien. Yo tuve la oportunidad de participar como una de las personas que entrevistaba al productor, y mi hermano representó al padre de una de los personajes. Fue muy divertido, gracioso y emocionante ser parte de esta película.

And then came the movie

Thanks to the initiative of the coordinator-founder to think of those children who are sometimes forgotten even by their own parents, to his imagination, and to the willingness of brigadistas, representatives and the police, a film was made, which they named "Dos Caminos " which, as the name says, is about the two paths that one has in life, which are evil and good. I had the opportunity to participate as one of the people interviewing the producer, and my brother played the father of one of the characters. It was very exciting to be part of this movie.

De parte de mi mamá

Por último quiero dejarles unas palabras de mi mamá. "Padres, representantes o responsables: este tipo de experiencias es divertida, formadora y enriquecedora. Para quienes han criado bien a sus hijos, es una manera de reforzar la disciplina y responsabilidad. Para otros, será la posibilidad de salvar vidas y/o brindar las herramientas que contribuyan a garantizar una sociedad más sana, siempre con Dios por delante.
