Simplify your life

What if it all didn't make any difference?

Imagine for a moment If the expensive automobile you go for or how luxurious your home is doesn't matter as long as it serves its purposes. It is a fact that a significant portion of our lives are complex only because we choose to make them thus.

It is as if the whole world becomes the workplace the moment we get a laptop. The same goes for tablets and smartphones. Yes, they have the potential to be helpful, but how much simpler do they make your life, or do they make things more complicated? We are exhausted working day and night because these gadgets have made our every moment working moments. To what extent does it contribute to simplifying our lives if we are required to be concerned about the battery and the number of bars it contains?

What is the significance of simplicity?

I believe in the importance of simplicity in our lives. It doesn't matter whether you're going on a camping vacation without phones, laptops, or microwaves; if you want to relax with a book and a fireplace, going essential may be an excellent approach to relieving stress and relaxation.

Simplifying things is a helpful strategy for relaxation.

Which aspects of my life may benefit from this?

What do we need to survive? The fundamentals include food, water, clothes, and a living place. A few more things are required, including relationships with other people, information and education, and health. When we surpass the fundamental requirements, we often create more complicated things than necessary.

Despite this, some things make life more pleasant, and because of this, we are willing to sacrifice more complexity in exchange for advantage. Using a contemporary washing machine is much more efficient than carrying your clothing to the stream and hammering it on rocks. The point at which we have to build plumbing, sewage, and electricity to make it operate is when the difficulty arises. There is no one I know who would be reluctant to engage in such a transaction, yet it is more complicated.

When does one reach the point when there is an excessive amount of complexity? This is a highly personal choice that has to be made based on your level of interest and your ability to deal with complexity. I have discovered that I thrive on complexity if specific parameters are met. When it comes to the rest of my life, I choose simplicity. Even though I am not returning to the days of washboards and candles (except camping weekends), I am simplifying my life in many other ways.

Regarding my technological devices, I see them more as tools than toys that can be played with. Building computer systems is still something I like doing, but I will purchase my next system with a custom configuration. I will do the same thing with my next laptop (even though it is just eight years old, it still has some life left for posting and reading blogs).

Take it easy. I do not need to go through the stress and effort of searching for all the specifications, determining which one is the best, downloading all the drivers, and so on. The task used to excite me, but now I have more productive things to do with my time. In the past, I thrived on the challenge. Where do you stand regarding how you use your time, energy, and effort?

What is it that you are doing that is not beneficial to you? In what situations do you want complexity for its own sake, and in what situations is it possible to simplify?

What aspect of your life would you want to diminish, lessen, or minimise? What should you tone down? Describe the factors that contributed to your situation's current degree of complexity and the new factors driving the need to minimise it. To what extent has the demand been met, or do you need to discover another means to fulfil the need after it has been satisfied by this level of complexity?

Take some time to think about it and develop some suggestions, including what you could accomplish with the additional time and energy you would have spent on the complexity you have just brought down. Feel free to give this a go again and over again until you feel more at ease with who you are. Check-in with yourself once a year to determine if you want to make adjustments or continue with the same strategy.

That is your life, and the decision is yours. Experiment with something, see how it functions, and then improve it. You may get more benefits from that intricacy than you previously believed. There is such a thing as "too little," which is a personal choice, just like too much. Don't feel terrible about adding it back; there is a way to do it.

I think most of us feel like we are on a hamster wheel that we just can't seem to get off of!

I like my tech, but I admit that it might be nice to just turn if all off for a while. If we were to go back 40-50-60 years, we might find more time for family get togethers and more time spent in taking vacations together and just plain old relaxing. Yes, some of the tech, like microwaves, certain appliances definitely do make cooking and cleaning easier today than before, but simplicity might win out over that sometimes.

I would love to try to seriously simplify, but unfortunately, my life and work right now; well, it just won't work. Maybe someday, when I retire, I might get to turn it all off for a while.

Thank you for sharing and have a lovely day!🤗💜 !LADY
