The underwater world of the Sri Lankan coast did not make a deep impression on me. A deserted bottom, murky water and a small number of underwater inhabitants. We dived for the first time in 2022 in the Unawatuna area. However, a year later, I decided to try again. We had significantly more time on this trip than the first time. I slowly went through all the dive centers of the nearby coast. I liked one young company of divers. They demonstrated fresh equipment and equipment, showed a new boat. Besides, the guys offered a good price. As a result, we agreed on two dives.

Then everything went as standard, equipment selection, a briefing, boarding the boat. Half an hour later we reached the dive site. The guys offered to see the sunken British ship "Orestes".
I watched with interest how they navigate the terrain. All in all, it's very entertaining. They determined our location by landmarks on the shore. It should be noted that they quickly found an anchorage. An anchor flew down, and the command to prepare for diving sounded.

I found this picture online. The inscription on the side says that this is the ship Orestes. But I'm not sure for sure that this is the ship that sank near Sri Lanka. In all fleets of the worlds of the world, it is customary to give a name to a new ship in place of those sunk or scrapped.

Then we started diving. The first layers of water were crystal clear. But underneath them was something that looked like soup with dumplings. Visibility dropped dramatically. It looked like a picture from a Star Wars movie. Only instead of stars there were some powdery formations. At a depth of 6 meters, the water became cleaner. I looked up - there was a layer of water resembling soup above us.

What else can I tell you? I saw the frames, the propeller and the remains of the cabin
