Abstract sunset

Here is some of my creative impulses coming out. Taking a sunset over a field of dandelions and trying some more abstract looks and effects.

For this image I used a filter in one of the Lightroom plugins I have to blur the sides of the image leaving the center sharp as if I was peering out through something obscuring my vision.

This is from using the twist zoom effect while taking a shot. It works with exposures that are a bit longer. The idea is to zoom your lens in or out while taking the shot to crate this streaking effect. You can try different timings and zooming in or out quickly or slowly to see what types of effects you might get.

Here is the same view, this time just shooting with a very shallow depth of field which creates a smaller slice of the image that stays in focus while the rest fades off into softness.

I love the zoom-burst photograph! For me, zooming-out always works better as it gives the better control over the composition. Zooming in... always a bit different from what I want to achieve :D
