As the Crow Flies

Watching this crow soar through the sky was a great opportunity to practice tracking a bird in flight. It can be quite challenging to get sharp images so its important to know what settings work best. Usually a higher shutter speed is needed for anything in motion. You will want to at least be using the reciprocal focal length for whatever lens you are using at the time. That means if you are shooing at 300mm. You will want a shutter speed that either matches of comes close to that if possible. If there is enough light you can shoot even faster but the key is trying to get clear details as you track your subject.
