Bearded Iris Flower Macro

Iris Germanica also known as the Bearded Iris is a summer flower. In full bloom I find they look full of life and have a more interesting structure than some flowers.

Nikon D90 1/640 sec. f/8 ISO-200 at 300mm

The more intricately designed petals fold down like a beard giving an artistic look with interesting patterns.

Nikon D90 1/500 sec. f/6.3 ISO-200 at 250mm

The more violet colored version is my favorite with taller petals and almost a more distinguished look to it.

Nikon D90 1/320 sec. f/9 ISO-200 at 270mm

Thanks very much, I really enjoy that as well. One of my favorite colors to find in nature.
